I don’t think receiving that “missing financial aid” document had to do with indicating acceptance. More like indicating that you’re missing financial aid documents, LOL.

I think it’s so funny how everyone who doesn’t (didn’t) work had to fax in the student tax exemption form and I didn’t.

I’m so special ^.^

dillbilly123:“i haven’t even started on my other apps…”
Me neither! To me it felt like November never existed…

HahaIwin - Maybe you don’t need to fax it in because you didn’t make it? o_O
lol just playing.
but if I make it Ill go completely berserk and run around my house screaming. heh.

^ lol if you read my last post, you would see they waived for me without me having to send in the waiver… therefore haha, I win :)

I got three emails about missing financial aid documents. The first told me which ones were missing, the next was to tell me they my waiver, and the last was to tell I had everything in. I also thought that because I got those emails, I got in, because so soon before notification, why would they bother calculating the people who didn’t get admitted’s financial aid? I’m not sure if that reasoning is correct. I wonder if there’d be input from past applicants on this one.

collegeconfid- Or maybe they waived the document for you since they seen that you didn’t get accepted and didn’t want to hassle you for something that was not necessary. It can go both ways.

We’ll all know in a few more days. In the meanwhile, I shall be procrastinating with my other applications.

I love how pessimistic you make us all feel elaslawek -_-

I try.
I probably didn’t make it anyways. =(

@Collegeconfid
did you send in anything about your student tax returns?
i e-mailed the address they sent in one of the messages, the cc-seas-aid@columbia.edu, but it said it was an invalid address or something.
i got the same series of e-mails you’re talking about, but i never sent in anything about my student tax return, which doesn’t apply since i’ve never had a paid job.

@BigApple46- You were supposed to send in a form that basically stated that you have no tax returns and made $0 this year.

I faxed it to both addresses but haven’t gotten a notification yet :(

ok, thanks

the status for my previous year return in the online tracking now says “waived.” whew.

I truly hope to GOD that you’re right.

We do not need to send any of this stuff right?:

“Free Application for Federal Student Aid Disbursement Not Received 11/17/2009
Parent W2 Forms Disbursement Not Received 11/17/2009
Parent Federal Tax Return Disbursement Not Received 11/17/2009
Student’s Federal Tax Return Disbursement Not Received 11/17/2009”

correct, we don’t need to send those things now.

Guys, my friend just told me that she was one of the few from her school who got the fin aid email about missing docs. According to her, 20 other students who didn’t send in their parents tax return forms, didn’t get contacted from the fin aid office. So again, we who did get the email, can be excited again. Well until elaslawek comes with their pessimistic input.

I did get the email, too.
Im just saying that it can go both ways. It might be a good sign, it might be no sign. We’ll find out in four days.
By the way, does anyone know if they did the same thing last year?

Wait…your friend has 20+ people from her school that applied ED to Columbia? AND 20 of them didn’t send their tax return forms?
