I got my acceptance letter today but there was NO mention of Financial Aid. I know I applied for it, is it still coming?

are you sure? mine was in a blue folder right with it. It was 35k of loans a year, but i guess that’s way better than 55

yeah my folder came with a financial aid thing right inside…20k trustees scholarship, 5500 student loans, 28k parent loans…a heck of a lot better than Michigan

does everyone get 20k off? cuz that’s exactly the same as i got

I got $10k in a trustee scholarship, $4k in work study. The assorted loans I didn’t even bother to read.

@mj what was your EFC?

i also got 10k in trustee scholarships, 4k in work study, and 35k or so in loans

i got 5k in trustee scholarships :[

i gpt 5k trustee too :[ i got 4k workstudy and then the rest of it was loans.

how is the trustee scholarship determined? is it need-based or solely merit based?

wat does 4k workstudy mean?

what were you guys’ EFC?

40k efc, 5k trustees + 4k workstudy

it said i got 12,000 CAS scholarship - is that trustee? what’s trustee?
i feel like it wasn’t solely merit based

A trustee are people who donate sums of money to a university I believe, and thus they have influence on the institution.

The School scholarships (CAS Scholarship, Tisch Scholarship, etc) are a combination of need/merit. The grants are need-based. The only full merit scholarships are those given to people in scholars programs such as MLK scholars.

so trustee is solely need based?

and my efc was around 30k

i honestly don’t know. My dad took care of all the fafsa for me, but my parents make like 250k… however i’m a quadruplet so they’ll have four kids in college for the next four years. SO i don’t know how that effects it. But i got in to the bpe program, so maybe there is partial merit based in there? it was a stern scholarship

yes i’d like an answer to this as well. there wasn’t anything about financial aid in it, just the pink envelope etc. i’m kind of worried since i have 0 money "/

in the “general instructions” packet that was included in the acceptances it explains that if financial aid information wasn’t included in the acceptance, the university was still processing it and they will send it as soon as possible…dunno when that will be though.

Although, sophiegoesto, that would probably be a great decision maker for you…

But in all seriousness good luck guys. My finaid wasn’t enough so there is like a 1% chance of me going.

Got 6K in scholarships, 4K in work study, the rest was loans…
And we now begin searching for obscure scholarships and praying to VARIOUS dieties.
