“You smell like a horse that’s been dead from winter until spring!”
What younger S (in pre-school) told me after a run. This was about the time where instead of just telling me he had a stomach ache, he said “it feels like my stomach is being bitten by a thousand skulls!” (Nostalgic moment)
Count me in the stinky group at the moment after a 3 mile run with mounds of snow on the ground but 61 degrees! Is this what it’s like to live in Colorado?!
Also did some bike time this morning when it was drizzling and took the dog out for 2 mile walk.
In Colorado winters, we often get weather in the 50s (or 60 degrees predicted in my town on on Tuesday - YAY). The CO sunshine is strong, so the snow does not last very long in warm spells except in the shady areas and/or very deep snowpiles.
I recommitted to my eating today, and wouldn’t you know, the neighbor who runs a doughnut shop brought a box of holes and a second box of breakfast sandwiches. I are half a hole and tomorrow dh is taking it all to work! Victory!
Yay - I was able to run again today. I wore mud shoes, but mostly the trail was dry despite the 8" snow last Thursday. The sun was so lovely that after my 5k run, I walked a half hour. After lunch I decided it would be efficient if before showering I did two short fitness blender videos (tank top arms, lower body stretch). THEN realized I had signed up for rec center zoom fitness videos, and Monday 4pm Zumba Gold is my favorite class. It’s nice being retired, with tons of time during Covid isolation.
Checking in. I took Sunday off. It sounded smart to rest after the Saturday covid shot reaction. Monday, I felt good and headed out to run. My body just said no. Walking felt good, so I went with that thinking of y’all. It would have been nice, except 45 min out it started dumping rain on me. I even checked the radar before heading out! I was a wet rat when I got back. The lifting portion oddly felt fine.
This morning I ran to the gym, did a short stairmonster stint, and ran home. It felt pretty normal. Video was endurance and agility. For some reason I thought it would be easy. Uh no. But I think my power jumps are a lot better than last spring.
I’ve not been sleeping well. I wake up every 1-2 hours with bad dreams. Ugh. It seems I always have to stress over something. Hopefully tonight will be better
@ClassicMom98 I didn’t realize until you posted on another thread that your home exercise “shed” was a result of COVID. I found that really interesting that it’s something your family put in place to deal with lack of gym or need for personal space or whatever!
Pretty typical Tuesday and every other Wednesday-- 90 minutes of soccer followed by a morning walk to get out of the way of the cleaning lady.
One of the highlights of last night is that the rules changed so bars can stay open until midnight, so I got to have my recovery beverage at my regular spot.
We got back into the swing of our 5 mile nightly walks this week after our two week ski vacation. We only missed one night since it was actually raining here in San Diego. Last night the beach was really quiet so we added an extra 1/2 mile walking along the sand.
@FallGirl the walk from our house to the sand is 2 1/2 miles each way. We do feel very fortunate to have great places to walk and the weather to be able to walk year round especially during the past year.
I’m still around and kicking. It’s been a decent week, but work had a big shake up and I can’t spend as much time online. Typing on my phone is harder.
Today was a run and then Cardio and Core form the work week 2. The run wasn’t the best, but not the worst. I worked hard this week and I’m feeling it, so being tired on a run isn’t always a bad thing.
We did a quick 3.6 miles this AM on pretty unremarkable set of trails at a nearby state park. Toss in 2 miles for dinner (1 each way) and it was a good day
Really, really dreaded yesterday’s long run. But I did it- 12 miles. First 6 felt easy. Next 5 were ok. Last mile was a struggle even running at an easy pace. But got it done.
