Fitting in as an International S

So I'm a freshman in college and I tried everything to fit in. I'm an international student at a not-so international school, so that doesn't help much either. Throughout the semester, I tried joining several 'groups' of people to see if they were the kind of people who interested me. I tried youth groups since I'm Christian, didn't work out. The people in my dorm are kinda nerdy and all they do is stay in, so although I don't distance myself from them I also don't like to hang out with them much. I'm the kind of person that likes to go out a lot (I like parties, but not really the drinking type). Problem is, it seems that I can't find anyone that has similar interests as me (either that or I'm very unlucky in finding friends). All the people I see who like to party here seem to be in frats/sororities. Unfortunately, I have no connections with those types of people so it's not like I could just crash a party some day either. I'm sick of trying to look for people to hang out with, and I even believe my grades have partly been affected by it.

I don't really know what I'm doing, if I'm ranting or just asking for advice, but yeah. Are there any other international students (or frankly, anyone) who have gone through the same phase?
