Flexible Deadlines for Teacher/Counselor Recs?

How important is it to have your teacher and counselor recs in on time (including the transcript, secondary school report, etc.)?

I am still missing one of my teacher recs. I was supposed to get it today, but we had a snow day. Tomorrow's looking like a snow day as well, so I am a bit worried. I have most of the forms with me at the moment, but my counselor still has his letter (but I have the Secondary School Report) and my official transcript. And of course one of my teachers has her form and letter. My counselor says that he has to be the one to send in all of the forms, meaning he'd need them no later than Friday.

So, basically, it's looking like I'm not going to have all of my forms gathered and ready by Friday, so they will likely be late. Is this okay as long as my actual application is on time?

I don't know what else to do. I've emailed my counselor and the teacher who hasn't given me my rec yet, but neither of them is responding. I even texted my teacher about it. No response. I'm just getting a little worried. Any advice?

sigh We officially have a snow day tomorrow. Any advice?

I think you’re okay. I’m actually in the very same position; snow day today, and probably tomorrow. As long as you’ve hit “submit” on your common app by the deadline, I think it’s fine. (Someone please correct me if I’m wrong!) They’re used to having forms filter in after the deadline as teachers, counselors, and students try to pull all the pieces of the application together.

Ah! Thank you! I suspected as such but really wanted to make sure.
