@Artful4art - when I looked at the current Presidential student some do appear to be from out of state.
(Also, my Mrs corrected me said my D had about 4.8 FSU GPA./I meant 4.0 unweighted.)

Hopefully, everyone gets everything corrected, and reports back here, as I am sure the application surge overwhelmed the Admissions office.

Is the only merit for OOS students the OOS waiver? Do they offer any other merit scholarships?

@Leaddog I spoke to admissions over the phone yesterday and they stated that the freshman scholarship was unavailable to oos students, even though the website makes no mention of this. They stated my daughter could still apply for the presidential, since she had the stats that would likely gain acceptance. But no freshman scholarship would be awarded. The 2021 class seems to be the last class that received the freshman scholarship with the oos tuition waiver.

My son applied last year and was give the OOS waiver. He applied for the Presidential and was invited to the Presidential interview weekend. At the weekend event, I am pretty sure I remember the admissions head told everyone invited, including OOS, that even if they did not receive the Presidential they would still be awarded the freshman scholarship. But I could be misremembering. By the way, the Presidential is well worth applying for even though only 25 are selected in each class. It’s a great program.

I’m OOS (Ohio), and I was accepted yesterday to the Fall term. I don’t think I received any scholarships or OOS waiver. Can I still receive some later on, or am I not getting anything? Thanks!

@benbiedenbach OOS here too and my daughter didn’t get anything. BUT in last year’s thread it seemed some people were getting offfered OOS waivers like a month later so there is still hope.

@BigHerms Summer admit is not a trial. They stagger the start to allow more kids to attend.

D Accepted fall term with Freshman Scholarship

FSU WGPA 5.0

OOS daughter was accepted - pathway.
We are declining the offer and she will be attending Penn State.
Panama City for 1 year or London her first semester is ridiculous. Who would send their kid abroad for their first semester of college?

@Leaddog, I believe the most prestigious scholarship for OOS is National Merit Finalist/Benacquisto Scholarship. This is available to National Merit Finalists that are graduating with a standard high school diploma. https://admissions.fsu.edu/freshman/scholarships/. My D got this offer, she is OOS and currently NMSF. Hopefully, she’ll get NMF status soon.

@slk1000 dumb question but is that 11 AP classes or 11 credits

Richfish, she still has time to see what happens with Pathways. If she holds off for a while that status may change.

Thanks for your reply- I didn’t realize that classes could be online for the 9 hour requirement.

@mypricelineemail she has taken 11 AP classes including senior year

Hello, so applied RD and I’m out of state, I was wondering if you can still get the tuition waiver or what the scholarships available would be?

Also what scores are required or common for waiver?

@Freakingout23 , last year the OOS waiver ACT was 30-31, I think.

I called today. If you didn’t have a scholarship attachment on your admissions letter, you didn’t receive one. I thought my daughter would receive an oos waiver but she did not. They aren’t issuing any more than that.
