My daughter was accepted for fall 2020.

Reading all these acceptances and denials is hard to comprehend, it’s so much all over the board.

@gat2bm I’m from Florida. Near Miami.
@gat2bm everyone I know practically got in and their stats are no where near as impressive as anyone else’s hear that has commented on this forum. It’s upsetting.
They released admitted student data. 50% gpa is 4.1-4.5, ACT 29-32, SAT 1290-1410. 61,000 apps for 6200 freshman seats.
Son Accepted

Thank you so much – those are points I will surface for her for sure! She’s just pleastantly surprised she got in at all lol! Thanks again!
My S accepted with Freshman Scholarship

GPA 4.0 UW
4.82 W
SAT 1560
ACT 35
Major: Math
Don’t understand the stats on rejection letters regarding 61,000 applications for 6,200 freshman seats. For 2019, FSU admitted 15,830 and 4,155 matriculated. In 2018, 13,557 were admitted with 3,725 matriculating. With 33,000 undergrads, none of this makes sense to me. The freshman class should be much larger than 3-4,000, but maybe they spike enrollment in later years with JC transfers.
@TxtoFl - could you please provide a link to where that information is provided by FSU?
@ShrimpBurrito My S was also accepted with OOS waiver for the same major! So exciting (especially for this FSU Alum)
Daughter received a reject email. Applied for summer term
In-state
GPA: 4.2
SAT: 1200
DE and AP courses: don’t knows specifics.
NHS, Spanish honor society + officer, dance team captain (dance team all 4 yrs) + numerous clubs. Well over 100 hrs community service.
She’s devastated. It’s hard for her to read FSU is a “safety” school from classmates who did get in.
Legacy though that doesn’t seem to matter anymore plus football ticket holder & booster for over 20 yrs. Lots of money we’ve donated. Doubt we’ll donate money in the future.
@SLF1836 on another board here, I read calls were made on 1/28.
@kgolby: That is really surprising…Sorry to hear that. Hoping she has other great options. This whole admissions process is such a gamble and doesn’t seem to make much sense.
Awesome, @FSUFAN! Surely their paths will cross if they both end up at FSU.
@Stephh1k I’m so sorry. It really doesn’t make much sense why you wouldn’t get accepted, especially that you’re in state. Hopefully, you have other great options.
@Anisqoyo Those were just the Fall matriculation numbers. Total Freshman class size last year was around 6,900, which was the largest class ever.
