Sent them videos of two jazz selections, to show variety in music ability. (Auditions were classical)
Sigh
It’s a dream school, a reach school too.
I got accepted to Temple University Boyer college of music and dance which is my second choice so it’s not like I’m left with no good options at all, I just am really hoping with FSU
(wanna be in the warm weather 2)
It’s so beautiful there!!!
Please respond!! Much appreciated.
Post your stats below if you got accepted/ out of state/ and/or in the college of music or know someone who did!!!
Thank you

You do realize that spamming a bunch of topics like you did isn’t going to convince people to give you an answer any faster, right?

Your GPA is decent, but with most of the fine art majors that require auditions, I believe that the way it works is that you aren’t officially accepted to FSU unless you are accepted to the program you auditioned for. You might be accepted by FSU but if your audition doesn’t go through I don’t think that you are officially approved… I could be wrong though, but I am pretty sure that is the case.

The low SAT will hurt towards admissions, the D isn’t good since that’s a kiss of death for a lot of people, and the 7 Honors classes and no APs is definitely a minus. There’s a lot going against you unfortunately.

I don’t think you got deferred by FSU because you hadn’t auditioned, but the low SAT and the D in chemistry, to be honest.

I’m not sure you make it on academics alone, especially being OOS - this from a parent who has a D attending FSU (freshman, in-state) and a S who got accepted to their music school but decided to accept a scholarship elsewhere. FSU has a top-ranked Arts program (Film, Music, Theater, etc) and it is EXTREMELY competitive to get in. If you have the talent and are accepted to one of those programs, your academics can be below the general acceptance average - but not way below. They PREFER you get in via academics as well…and conversely, if you don’t make it through the audition process, it’s 100% based on academics. OOS is tough and competitive there, so I’m afarid you would be out. Hopefully you’ll get in the to the voice program if you have your heart set on FSU…great school!
