If any posters have a moment of time, and are familiar with the UT Ticket process for students, I would certainly appreciate any information you can give to aid me in understanding this whole deal.

If I am a student, do I purchase a Longhorns All-Sports Package, and in turn do I receive football tickets? Or when purchasing said LASP, do I only purchase the right to acquire the football tickets at a later time? I am having a hard time deciding what best suits me, or how to go about this all. I feel time may be of the essence, so I'd like to get a feel for the situation and could certainly use some advice.

*I figured I would clue you into what the ideal package would look like for me, or at the very least what I need in any ticket deal. I absolutely have to go to every football game if possible, and I would love to go to several basketball and baseball games apiece.

when and where can you start buying tickets for football games?
when you buy tickets, do you have to say where the seats are, or do they assign you one?
and how much does one ticket cost without the LASP?

You cannot buy student tickets without a LASP–you can get scalped tickets, but you can’t get a ticket without the LASP.

Last season, the LASP was $70 for the year. Season football tickets were $65 on top of that for every home game. OU tickets were $95.

If you don’t buy season tickets, but get the LASP only, LASP draw tickets are free for students, but you aren’t guaranteed tickets for high-priority games. You also won’t have the same seats for each game. However, you can take a group of up to 6 IDs for LASP and get tickets together, so if you meet people you want to sit with after the deadline for season ticket groups is past, you can sit with them if you didn’t buy season tickets for all the games you get season tickets.

For season seats, you’re assigned the same seat for every home game. However, it’s not really difficult to sit wherever you want in the student areas.

ok, so if you buy the LASP, you can buy tickets. do those tickets also include tickets for family members? I’m not sure how many football games I plan on going to, but my dad wants me to buy a ticket for him, my mom, and myself for the TTU game. sorry, I tried researching but I still don’t fully understand how LASP works :/

For single game tickets, you usually can buy them early on Texas Box Office, otherwise you’ll need a scalper. They won’t be with your season seats, so you’ll need an extra seat.

You can buy one single guest season ticket if you buy a season ticket. It costs $300.

LASP is an all-sports package. It guarantees you entry free into most sporting events. Football events you can get in for free if you get a draw ticket, but the only guaranteed way to get in is to pay for season tickets. Basketball is first-come-first-serve unless you pay extra for the Stampede pass.

how much will it cost to have both my parents come to one football game if I purchase the LASP? would I have to buy 3 guest tickets if I want us to sit together, or can I just sit in the guest area instead of the student section?

If you buy a LASP and don’t buy season tickets, tickets are free but you aren’t guaranteed them. You get in the draw line and most games it’s just easy to walk up and get them. But for the OU game, probably the Tech game this year, and for the A&M game when it’s in Austin, there are more people wanting tickets than they have LASP tickets, so they do a drawing based on the number of the wrist band they hand you, and you have to get lucky to get tickets.

You can turn in up to 6 IDs at a time to get LASP tickets, but if you don’t do it at the same time you won’t be able to sit together.

If you buy season tickets, it’s $65 on top of the LASP, but you are guaranteed a seat for all 6 home games. You can also set up as big a group as you’d like to sit with.

thanks. so by ID you mean UT ID’s or just general ID’s? as I’ve mentioned, how do I purchase tickets for my parents for just one game? I’m assuming I’ll have to pay for those.

Yes, I got the email, but I already bought it when I registered during orientation without having to register. But I’ll register anyways just in case. The $70 LASP is already in my ‘What I Owe’ section.

To buy tickets for your parents, you should do what’s already been suggested on this thread and forum.

You cannot get them tickets in the student section with you. You can buy a guest ticket for the season.

You can buy single game tickets for most games on the Texas Box Office website, but they sell out fast–particularly against Tech. Your best bet is going to be Stub Hub, most likely.

if you buy season tickets too…do you have set up the group thing when your buying the tickets? or can you go ahead and buy them and do the group thing later?

As the defacto expert on Football tickets…Is there a limit to the size of the group you can have. My D is reaching out to other incoming students and trying to recruit some friends to sit with. Afre you limited to six or any number? If you know…we would appreciate your insight.
Thanks
