Foothill vs Unit 1 / Unit 2 Minisuites

I'm having a hard time deciding between whether to put Foothill or those Unit1 / Unit2 minisuites as my first choice for housing.

Which one has bigger rooms? Which one has better amenities? How do they compare?

I'll be doing an EECS major, and I'll have enough credits to transfer to skip most general education courses.

I've heard that there's Airbears at Foothill. If so, that'd be a soultion to my excessive usage that will most likely go over the 8GB/wk limit. Then again, the Academic Services Centers at the units can compensate.

Which one would you recommend and why? I have absolutely no consideration for chances on my application.

EECS, me too! I heard that the majority of your classes won't be situated around Cory/Soda hall, so there's not much preference to living in Foothill..

If you're science/math/engineer, Foothill is closer to the majority of your classes. Of course, you'll be taking a lot of UG requirements, so you'll still be all over campus. Foothill is quieter, but both have airbears. But using airbears still counts towars your 8GB/wk (I think), but you don't have the greatest connection, so download speeds will suffer.

what is airbears?

The Berkeley wireless Internet system...thingy...

they don't have airbears. There is Airbears and there is ResComp. Airbears is only on campus and ResComp is only in the dorms and dining commons. ResComp wired and wireless combined give 8GB/wk. Airbears gives unlimited access.

I recommend Unit 1/Unit 2. Foothill is socially depressing. But then again, you'll easily find people to help you with engineering courses at Foothill.

Foothill building 7 picks up Airbears.

tastybeef: are units 1 and 2 better than unit 3?

I'm only interested in the minisuites of Unit1/Unit2. Otherwise, it's Foothill all the way.
