Unit 1 double mini suite vs foothill triple

Hey everyone!
I've been accepted to UC Berkeley for EECS! :D

Since I am an international student I won't be able to visit Cal to narrow down on housing options. The living at cal site is not very lucid.
I'm extremely confused and the deadline keeps getting closer! I've narrowed down on a foothill double as my first preference because of its proximity to the engineering and CS buildings.

For my second preference, I'm having a tough time deciding between a foothill triple and a double mini suite in unit 1.
The factors I'm taking into account are:

1) COMFORT: My guess is that a unit mini suite would be more comfortable than a triple in foothill. I've heard that triples everywhere(other than Clark Kerr) are very cramped. Is this true?
2) PROXIMITY: Foothill has an advantage here but is the advantage so significant that I should rule out the double mini suite option in unit 1(assuming it's more comfortable)?
3) BATHROOMS: I know that on an average 12-14 people share a single large common bathroom in foothill. I'm very sensitive to bathroom cleanliness so here are my questions-
a) Are the bathrooms well maintained?
b) Are there enough stalls or is there a waiting queue in the morning because of the rush to get to class?

I think that in terms of the bathroom situation, unit 1 mini suite would be a better choice as only 4-5 people share a common bathroom. Am I right?

Any advice, inputs and opinions would be greatly appreciated :)

Foothill is next to Bowles (the boys dorm), and these two dorms are pretty isolated. Triples are a little…cramped, but they’re manageable. But you want more space… go for the unit mini-suite. foothill/bowles have a reputation for being more anti-social, but I don’t really know what it is about them that makes them more “anti-social”.

Well, you get used to walking pretty easily. It depends on you. Are you lazy enough that you don’t really want to walk that much to go back to your dorm? It’ll only take you like 20 minutes top for you to walk from Unit 1 to the EECS buildings.

There aren’t as many bathrooms in the foothill dorms. Are you a boy or a girl? You’re pretty much going to be sharing a restroom with one of the sexes. Guys tend to be a little more gross, but girls can also be just as gross (depends if they come back puking from parties, etc). At least with a mini suite, you get your own bathroom (usually 4 people to a bathroom). For foothill, since its residential, you’ll be sharing the bathroom with the whole floor.

I would choose Unit 1 since a mini-suite is a lot nicer. It’s a bit more pricier, but if price isn’t a big deal, go for the mini-suite. You also get a lot more space compared to a triple

Thanks a lot for the comprehensive reply
I’ve heard that foothill is antisocial because it’s mainly occupied by engineers lol :stuck_out_tongue: and to answer your question I’m a boy.
