For anyone who hasn't received a decision yet

haha none taken. well A. its unweighted, and i try to take honors classes… and B. the kids who get gpa’s of 90 and above at my school go to ivy’s not state schools.

able to pay deposit for Watson UG Fall 2010

1340/1600 SAT’s i think 1950 with writing not sure though
94-95% three year avg
no ap’s (not offered)
no ec’s besides BSA
somewhat prestigious LI high school

Honestly, I’m starting to believe the lower colleges place SAT ahead of GPA.
At least high SAT-scorers can bring the average SAT up, boosting the college’s ranking, which then attracts more students.
I think this is why Narney got in.

What does a high GPA do for a college?
Ivy League caliber schools don’t need to worry about SAT scores, since almost all the 2300+ applied there. This is probably why GPA is more important for Ivy Leagues.

As well as the fact that a GPA isn’t something that can be standardized across the entire country, unlike the SAT. So what if my GPA is lower than someone else’s, if we have the same SAT score, chances are that my high school is more difficult than theirs… completely nullifying who has a higher GPA.

my friend from OOS got in to bing with a 1520 Sat and a 3.2 gpa?

Transfer:
2.0 @ Purdue
3.46 @ Johnson & Wales (3.53 then a 3.4)

Are you able to pay in website? because it says that I am eligible to pay a deposit but I do not have slot for making a deposit for undergratuate on tab “Make Payment”.
I only have grauduate student deposit?

94% unweighted…3.7 GPA I think

able to make payment for watson

so, my daughter decided to respond to that email she received about letting her application be reviewed by CCPA , i.e. the Humanities program. Admission said it’s neither easier or harder to get into than Harpur but I thought it was weird that they would email her to say that she looked appropriate for that college, so we are taking a gamble and decided that that probably meant she was being rejected from Harpur and maybe better chance at CCPA. we shall see…

I am eligible to make a payment to the Harpur- Undecided.
My Stats are:
1380(M+V)
SAT Subject Test Chemistry: 800
Math 2 Subject test: 780
Math 1 Subject Test: 750

GPA: 95 (I have taken regular level courses in addition to two AP Courses)
AP Scores: 4- Stats, 5- Chemistry
Caucasian Male

Good luck to your daughter. I would think that the email is a positive sign that they ARE interested in her, enough to potentially find a spot for her, if needed. Hope it works out for her.

just checked to see if we could make a deposit, and saw that she had been accepted into the CCPA , humanities program, yeaaa!!!
now, does anyone know anything more about this program???

@accouting:

It said I was able to pay my deposit, but when I go to actually try and pay it, I can’t select the Fall 2010 semester. Mine only has a newly accepted graduate student tab.

I hope Binghamton sends out letters early- I am kind of anxious-.-

This page should be of great interest to you and your daughter: [Binghamton University - Academic: Schools and Colleges: College of Community and Public Affairs: Index](http://www2.binghamton.edu/ccpa/human-development/about.html)

Has anyone heard any more on whether or not this “back door” method is accurate. I mean if you can log in and it says you are eligible to pay, does that mean you’re accepted? I’m loggin in every day and hoping it doesn’t change. So far it hasn’t except I can’t actually choose to make a payment for Fall 2010. It doesn’t exist in the drop down under “make payment”. Anybody have any further information on this?

My guess is that if you can pay the deposit, you are probably in, however, just because you can’t pay the deposit yet does not necessarily mean that you have been rejected…

My momma called the admissions office and was very persistent. they said that all instate decisions are being mailed out next week and the week after

I don’t know if I got accepted, i can log in to pay my deposit but I never go through the process. anyone here attend harpur college?

The system hasn’t let me pay the deposit until yesterday. Hopefully, it’s a good sign.
I am an international student, transfering from CA to SOM. So nervous.
