For anyone who hasn't received a decision yet

I def agree mink…

@comfortnjoy Sorry You didn’t receive your letter…good luck …

My question still stands for anyone willing to answer?

@binghamtonfan123 i was accepted to the binghamton school of management class of 2014

Come on guys. We here trying to help people.

Also I havn’t hear yet but I am unable to login but when I called Binghamton they said they have not made offical decisions for Watson and the letters are going to be sent on April 1.

I hope you guys realize that Binghamton is one of those schools which sometimes reject 1600/1600, 4.0 GPA students, because Binghamton knows those students won’t attend their school. What adcoms like an overachieving student who places their school as a safety? It’s like an insult.

Heck, I think I got rejected from Binghamton. But, I already got into Wesleyan, so no biggie. I just want their acceptance letter so I can massage my ego.

**AS I HAVE PREVIOUSLY SAID ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, THE “BACKDOOR” METHOD IS IN NO WAY AN OFFICIAL ADMISSIONS DECISION, AND SHOULD BE IGNORED.

THE OFFICE OF UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS AT BINGHAMTON UNIVERSITY ONLY SENDS DECISIONS VIA THE UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE.**

The School of Management and the Decker School of Nursing are the most competitive schools on the Binghamton campus.

To students who are saying things along the lines of “why is Binghamton doing this to us?!,” the method you “discovered” was clearly not an official one. I even made that very clear in numerous posts. PLEASE wait for an official admissions decision before celebrating/grieving! I’ve also notified the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as to these various discoveries, and I’m hopeful this won’t be an issue during the next admissions cycle.

Additionally, a huge variety of factors go into decisions asides from a series of numbers. There is no shortage of applicants with 1600 SAT scores and 4.0 GPAs. They are looking for a diverse student body that can truly do amazing things.

Good luck to all of you, and my personal advice as a student here is that you just relax until you receive an official notification! :)

@DidIMakeAMistake

You are RIGHT though. Binghamton will not always accept the ones who get a 3.9-4.0 GPA and a 1300/1600 SAT score.

What they want is students who got a 3.5 or above but someone who got a 950/1600 on the SAT because they see potential to do well. They also want some diversity.

@BingAmbassador!

THANK YOU! That’s what I have been saying!

Oh well. I guess I got rejected, I got rejected from every other suny, and my stats are way too low for bing.

I’m really sorry to hear that. If you are indeed from Stuyvesant High School, you might want to consider CUNY schools. At Bronx Science, we were required to apply to CUNY schools to ensure we had a place to go, unless our parents signed a waiver opting out.

I wish you the best of luck! :)

@theamigo I feel I should give you an apology…Sorry for the unkind words bro I was just so excited that I got accepted into Binghamton, honestly I was just being a ■■■■■ Not getting accepted is no big deal there are plenty of other schools out there that would love to have you seriously, btw What other schools did you apply for?

@itsminkthks I wish you luck post on here as soon as you get that beautiful green letter

@bingambassador
How did you know I go to stuyvesant high school? Yeah, I applied for a couple CUNYs. But binghamton is my dream school, I visited their a couple of times, and is definately my number one choice. Who knows if I got rejected or not. Time will tell right? Thanks to everyone for clarifiying everything!

I totally understand Binghamton being your number one choice. My average at Bronx Science was far from stellar, although I did have a few “hooks” that I believe helped me get accepted. As you yourself said, only time will tell – don’t dismiss your chances until you receive a letter in the mail. I wish you the absolute BEST of luck!

bingambassador, you know when decisions for Harpur are coming in? Seems only guys who applied for SOM got their letters.

BingAmbassador Do you work for admissions? and what program in Binghamton are you in? It would be cool to say hi to you once I reach binghamton in august

I applied for CCPA under social working. I was wondering if the fact that my GPA, SAT increased wil make a difference in me being accepted? I’m also a receipient for the presidential award for community service gold level and I’ve volunteered for more than 1000 hours in the last 4 years.

@DidIMakeAMistake: Unfortunately, students are not privileged enough to know such information. I can’t even confirm if it’s truly ONLY SOM that has been sending out decisions. All decisions go through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions – it isn’t as if each individual school is sending out the letters from their office. The suggested deadline to hear from Binghamton is April 1, which is fast-approaching. When I applied EA last year (no longer an option), I was notified on January 15, which is what their suggested deadline was.

@BinghamtonFan123: I am the Assistant Communications Coordinator for the [Student Ambassadors Program](http://www2.binghamton.edu/admissions/students/student-ambassadors.html), which is a student-run portion of Admissions. This isn’t a paid position. I also blog for Admissions and had a federal work-study last semester.

I’m in the Computer Science program in Watson, although I intend to IUT to a different program here. It isn’t anything with Watson specifically, but rather, my personal career plans. I’m interested in doing something in a University environment (i.e., Admissions or Res Life).

Congrats on your acceptance! :)

Do you mean that your GPA has “trended upwards” since starting at Stuy? If that’s what you mean, then yes, that always looks good. If you mean in terms of a midterm grade report, that is also good. I am POSITIVE that for CCPA, volunteer work and community service are huge pluses; after all, that’s a huge component of their program! I can’t be more specific than that, however. [A lot goes into an Admissions decision.](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/1064366205-post2.html)
