For newly accepted applicants - read this!

Don't waste any time filling out your housing application on TritonLink! It's a non-binding contract. It secures your first come first serve housing so if you want a single, double, etc, the sooner you submit it the more likely you are to get your housing preference. You can find the link on the left side toolbar at myapplication.ucsd.edu

Congratulations to all who got in! Revelle - earth science/systems for the win!

thanks for the heads up!

Oh, fantastic point! I was going to bring this up. DO WHAT kcseabolt SAYS NOW! You’ll be at the top of the housing list, it costs nothing, and it doesn’t matter if you don’t end up picking UCSD.

Thanks kcseabolt!
If not for your post, I probably wouldn’t have filled out the housing application until I submitted my SIR -_-

did it ask u wat u preferred for housing type?? it didnt show anything on mine

Thank you sooooooooooo much kcseabolt :)

no the housing application doesn’t ask for housing preference. that email will be sent by res life later.

So if we fill out the SIR it doesn’t matter if we actually GO to UCSD or not? So do it just to be safe?

no. the SIR and the housing application are two separate contracts. do NOT turn in the SIR if your decision has not been made about going to ucsd.

Thank you sooooooooooo much for posting this. What are the chances of getting a single as a freshman?

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

i <3 UCSD, im a transfer woooooooooooooooooooooo

Revelle, general physics

wow, I didn’t know that!! thanks! :D

@samedifference

Well, if you already have filled out the housing application then that’s like a 100% chance of getting a single.

Agreeeed with all of the above! I filled it out on the first or second day and I got a double, just what I requested, whereas a lot of ERC students got stuck in triples or were sent to Revelle. May not seem like a big deal now, especially if you don’t know if you’re going to UCSD, but it was really sad to see everyone who didn’t get what they wanted upon move-in day!
Spread the word to your friends.

I just clicked the link saying Submit Housing application and it said it was submitted… But I didn’t fill out anything. lol What did I do wrong?

when are we supposed to get an email??

@spacedog

Nothing, that’s all you have to do. Yay.

I went online and submitted the application but it didn’t even ask me to pick a preference on terms of single/double/ where to live etc. Did anyone else get something different?

^That’s exactly what’s supposed to happen. You’ll pick preferences later on, this just guarantees your spot.

No, housing preferences don’t come along until the housing contract (a contract that you fill out later after you turn in your SIR)
