I got accepted to UCSD and I'm probably going to go there..
and I heard that you should send the housing application asap if you want the room of your choice.
But I'm still waiting for private colleges :(
Would it be okay to wait awhile until private college decisions (just in case), or should I just apply for housing now?

It says that you should send your housing application even if you may no decide to go to UCSD. So send it in now! If you decide not to go to SD, it won’t hurt you.

SEND SEND SEND your housing app! They will NOT punish you if you don’t end up coming here!

It doesn’t cost anything so do it now. It doesn’t matter if you don’t end up going here.

the housing app is a non-binding contract

if you haven’t already, do it now!!!

:)

if we sent it in already, were we suppose to get something via email already?

^You won’t hear more about housing until after SIRs are due, May 1st.

oh wow haha okay I’ll send it in asap.

and one more question.
do many people request for a double?
because I want to get a double but I’m afraid they’re all going to be taken since theres only few. (Thurgood marshall only has 12)

^
They have a lot of singles and triples almost no doubles, very true.

What reason are you aiming for a double over a triple or single?

In terms of “social-ness” you will get to know pretty much everyone in your suite (especially the ones on your side) regardless if you’re in a single, double, or triple.

so if you’re in a single, you’ll be able to socialize just as much as you would doubles and triples? which would you say is the most preferred?

Sylvia, you’re in Marshall too? Awesome!
I was thinking about getting a double, but a single may be more likely for me.

i heard singles are for loners. is this true??

Keep in mind that you’ll be in small suites of several (around 5, depending on college) single/double/triple rooms. You have a common room and a bathroom that you share with only these 5 or so rooms. So you become friends with your suitemates even if you’re in a single. It’s not a traditional dorm setup with a hallway of like 20 rooms on each side.

Does anyone know about the Revelle Dorms? Should i try to get into the Fleets or Argo/Blake?

The fleets suck, go for Argo - it’s where the most freshmen live in Revelle

I’m really excited for dorming :). Does any one know anything about the dorms for Muir College?

I was wondering the same thing about the dorms. Any opinions? I really don’t mind a party, but don’t want to be in a total party dorm because I do need to pass my classes. Ideas?

I’m not in Muir but I heard they have great dorms, really encourages socializing and getting to know people in your building - also if you are on one of the top floors, you can see the sunset over the ocean sometimes.

I’m in Sixth and I still like the dorms, so :)

I got into Warren College and I sent my application (or it says there anyways) on 3/17/10. Is this a good date (early date for housing app)?, especially I really want a single room.
