I got another admissions email from one of my schools today! I am happy to announce that I have been accepted to SDSU!

Does anyone know when tranfer tft applications are going to go under review? According to my application portal, mine is still not under review and since it’s already March, I’m feeling a bit worried!
@northremembers I was about to ask the same thing >_< ugh! I just wanna see progress! HOWEVER… according to my excessive/obsessive research and over analytical mind… I have noticed in my research that the longer that you wait, the lower the chances of acceptance might be. So basically if you end up waiting until the ACTUAL decisions day (April 21st)…it’s a gamble at that point. TFT usually sends out their decisions before the final date. So…around mid-March through mid-April.
@MiniGrace11 So they could reject people without even reviewing their application?? I sure hope mine goes under review soon then D:
@northremembers I THINK SO. I am not 100% sure! That’s just my interpretation of the very vague information that they give and other forums that I have read online.
@MiniGrace11 Well thank you for the response, even if I am hoping it is wrong lol! I wish they would give some kind of indication when applications are supposed to begin to be reviewed. Like, “all applications will go under review by mid-March” or something so i don’t have to freak out haha.
@northremembers Yeah, I wish there was some sort of non-vague answer they would be willing (or could) give us. I’d say one of us should call but I think they take your name when you call and I don’t want them to be like “omg this applicant is annoying! #Denied.” Freshman notification day is March 18th though, so maybe we’ll get a rough idea around then. I forgot who was a freshman and who else is a transfer (I think I’m the only transfer here lol). Once the freshmen are notified, transfers will probably get their reviews and decisions shortly after!

@northremembers I saw that a film applicant got an interview …I caved in and called them. they said that EVERY PERSON THAT APPLIES TO THE MAJOR IS CONSIDERED AND REVIEWED!!! also, whether you do or do not get an interview will NOT affect our chances! So interview or not and no matter what, as long as you applied, you are reviewed and considered for the major! they are still in the process of reviewing applications and we should hear back within the next few weeks! (for transfers) not sure about freshman decisions but I know UCLA’s freshman decision day is march 17th this year! good luck!
@MiniGrace11 Thank you! I was seriously considering calling as well so this was helpful! Was this a transfer student that got an interview? And do you know when they received the invitation? As nerve wracking as it would be, I was actually hoping to be able to have an interview //: I sure hope whomever you spoke with on the phone was correct and that even if we don’t get invites, we still have a shot!
Hello! I’m here. I’m getting anxious, which is why I’m checking this site less. I just… try not to worry about it.
@northremembers Yes, this transfer received their interview invitation yesterday (March 7th). My theory based on what the admissions told me is that the interview is for the applicants that are on the border of acceptance and being waitlisted. Everyone else that does not receive an interview has either made it in or has been denied. The interview is for those who are somewhere in-between and I guess that’s their chance to make an impression that makes or breaks them. (Just a theory based off of TFT website, TFT forums, and phone calls I have made to TFT.)
The woman on the phone is correct. I have heard that from every person I have spoken to in my calls to TFT. I believe only GRADUATE students and THEATER students MUST have an interview to be considered for the program.

I know my last name is at the end of the alphabet so I don’t expect my supplements to be reviewed for a few weeks but have yours been reviewed/ checked yet? @NickFraser98 @northremembers
Just says it’s in progress, the little “review” box hasn’t been ticked yet. It’s so close that I don’t think it matters, we’ll know if we got in or not very, very soon. I’m not one of those people that can just check over and over, that would drive me mad!
@MiniGrace11 Well that does ease my anxiety a little! The “review” box on my supplemental has not been ticked yet either which has been worrying me a lot. However, if they are going alphabetically then my last name will also be towards the end so maybe that explains it!
@northremembers I just communicated with the person who got an interview has not had their “review” box ticketed either! So now I have to conduct more research and come up with another theory…I swear if I had put this much research and effort into my ACTUAL school work…my GPA could have been way higher ._. but yeah, my last name is at the back of the alphabet too so I feel your pain, haha. Maybe they don’t ticket the review box until everybody has been reviewed?
