i ripped my contact a little and i just threw it away. i am on the monthly plan where i throw them out every month but i only wore these for like 1.5 weeks and i feel kinda irritated cause i had some good usage left. what are some techniques for making sure you don't rip your contacts?

Don't let your eyes get too dry; use eye drops (whatever brand of contact solution you use, get the same brand of eye drops) to keep your eyes not dry. Also, be super careful when you take out your contacts- if your nails are really long and sharp, trim and file them, to prevent them from ripping the contacts when you take them out.

what's the best contact solution out there?

I had problems with contents before I started using Clear Care. Anything that disinfects them overnight is a good bet.

i use renu.

I use Complete, personally, but I've also used Aquify (when Complete was recalled) and some random saline solution (eh...).

I've definitely seen Renu brand eye drops. You might want to try getting them, it could be very helpful.

Renu is really good.

I would strongly encourage anyone to get any type of Acuvue contacts. I used some other brand before, and I had the ones that you change once a month, and they were terrible. They got dry very fast, I could always feel them in my eye, they irritated my eye, etc. I got the two week Acuvue ones, and they're great. They never get dry, and I haven't ripped one at all, and I've been using them for 6 months. Seriously, they're the best out there.

Acuvues are actually amazing. I have the Oasys for Astigmatism. Amazingly nice on your eyes. I advise getting them online than your doctor...I saved about $15/box. Other tips...use eye drops, wear nice sunglasses to protect your eyes, use a solution that you are suited for. i.e., Renu is awesome, but I prefer Ciba brand, b/c Renu irritates me and Ciba has fewer chemicals.

I just buy my contacts from Costco. They work the best for me and are cheap. The eye doctor gave me some special ones to promote oxygen flow and healthy eyes, but those irritate my eyes. Maybe switch to 2 week contact lenses? That's what I use, a month seems awfully long.
