I find myself so undecided between the two. I absolutely LOVE Fordham's campus and location, while Holy Cross has a great reputation for being a strong community. As a transfer student, I find myself so torn and I was wondering if anyone had an insight for the comparison of these schools socially? Clearly they are both outstanding academically.

Before deciding, you may want to make an inquiry about where your housing will be at Fordham. A friend’s daughter transferred to Fordham this year and was put in off-campus housing (Fordham owns some buildings outside of the school gates). After one semester she was able to move to an on campus dorm and she is really happy now. Knowing where you will be housed might be a factor in making a final choice. You have two great schools so congratulations - you can’t make a bad choice!

I mean, I really love fordham. The community service opportunities are really great. The dorothy day center for service and justice has been been a great opportunity for me. The student body here is something I always wanted in a college community. I know some friends at Holy Cross, and it’s a great school, but I really hope you consider Fordham.

One of my friends transferred to Holy Cross and she said that at first it was hard to find a close group of friends because it’s so small and everyone was already in their friend groups by the time she got there. But she seems to really like it now so I’m sure it’s not that big of a deal. The same thing probably would have happened to her if she had transferred to a different school though.
