Found Bluemer

um, that does look like Pete in the picture. Looks a bit tired I'd say. :)

Does anyone know what color lanyard the Jaguars wear?

That is Pete (07Petko)! Good call usafa21astr and hornetguy.
I agree he looks tired. We've sent a lot of mail but no word back from him yet. Thanks for finding him.

Jaguars are in blue - looks to me like a dark royal blue. My D is in Jaguars!

Thanks so much. I think that will make it easier as I look through photos.

Momof Hopeful - can you show me a photo with the dark blue lanyard? I haven't been able to spot one yet in any of the pictures.

yes - wow, I checked all the ones of my D and don't see a one of her with a clear picture of the lanyard - try this one:
http://www.printroom.com/ViewgalleryPhoto.asp?userid=aog1959&gallery_id=743679&image_id=128

or - this is some random kid - but I don't know who. . . but the lanyard is clear. My D is in the background on the left, the one as far back as you can see the face of on he left.

also, there is a video of them - see this:

http://www.usafawebguy.com/?q=Video

the two videos with the in are titled: 7-02-07 Basics Practicing Flanking Maneuvers and 7/02/07 Cadre Teaching - Right Flank, March

I found my D in the second video but can't figure out where she is in the first. Hope you can find your son in there someplace. If you will send me a link I will keep an eye out for him too as I search through for my D.

Thanks for sending the links! I was looking for a darker shade of blue. No wonder I couldn't find it. I can spot that one. Now I will have to go back and look at all of the photos again. ( :

I thought the tall guy in the front of the larger marching group was my son, but my husband and another son say no. Hmmmmm.

Also, I thought your daughter was blonde. I only see dark haired girls in the smaller marching group. Which one is she?

I am a bit confused. I have a picture with my daughter wearing a "dark" Blue lanyard so I thought she was in Jaguars. The AOG just informed me she was in E -19. When looking at pictures I feel lost now because I think the E squadron has on green. :/

IMAFLRsMOM:

Did you confirm both your daughter's first and last name? If her full name is common to another basic (or even just a last name) the person on the other line could have given you the wrong squadron on accident.

Also, are you 100% sure that the picture is your daughter? I know that seems like an obvious answer, but you'd be surprised how many parents are mistaken in finding their S/D.

Guy4Christ:
Yes, I confirmed first and last name. The spelling is unusual. As for the picture, I purchased the downloadable image because it is a close-up of her..no doubts there. I am thinking of calling again ...just to double check.

Called again. They confirmed she is in Executioners 19. I will keep looking.

I seem to remember there being some mix-ups and confusion regarding the colors of lanyards between each year...so it is possible that is also a mistake. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Webguy is posting the lanyard colors now.

Thanks so much.

Patriotmom - her hair is brown. In the first photo I posted she is the only girl (at least it sure looks like she is the only girl - if one of the others is a girl, I am very sorry for my error ...!!!)

In the 2nd photo she is NOT in that photo. I guess I had a case of wishfull thinking yesterday because today I do not see her in that photo at all. Last night both my husband and I agreed that it was her. So, . . . whomever it is - she has a nice blue lanyand!

In the video my D is the taller of the two center girls, I think. Again, last night I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was her. Today I am not so sure. If that is her - she needs a smaller uniform!!

Send me a link to your son (right?) and I will keep my eyes searching for him as I search her out, he is in Jaguars too ... right?

I agree that you sometimes "want" to see your cadet in the photos. We too have been bleary eye'd looking for son Mike and occasionally we'd say "maybe that's him..."

Well, we now have 100% proof that regardless of how good a parent you are, there are just some changes that totally throw off your ability to spot your kid in a crowd. Thanks to a GREAT coach (Mike was recruited to be on the USAFA Shooting Rifle Team) we now have some up close and personal shots of Mike post I-day haircut and wearing those ridiculous BC glasses. I'm not kidding when I say that my wife and I did double takes when the pix showed up from coach in our email box today. WHAT A CHANGE! Son Mike has had short hair before but yikes - he must have PO'd the barber on I-day 'cause he's just about bald! (his head is shining!). And those glasses really throw ya off too. But at least he looks happy. :)

So don't be surprised if you miss your kid in the photos, or just mis-ID him or her. We've got proof that regardless of how well you think you know what your cadet looks like, the changes they're goint thru are a real eye opener...

I keep looking at the same photo's that I was so sure of last night and they just don't seem right today. The ones from prior days all look like her without doubt but for some reason last night was a bad night.

I told her in a recent letter that when she sees the photographer she is to stop what she is doing, turn to the camera a pose with a big smile thus making it easier for me to ID her. What do you think? Will she do it?!!!!

HAHA! Thats a really good idea! Wouldn't that be nice. I just wrote my cadet telling her that she seems to take off in the other direction when the camera guy comes around. I found pics of her squadron looking in the cadet store, and in one of the first pictures, I could see her in the back walking away from the camera. And though there were many more pictures of her squadron in the cadet store, along with a video of them, she is not in any of them. Although, I am very glad to be looking for a cadet who is quite easy to point out!!

My D seems to have had all distuingishing marks surgically removed recently! I know her hair is still long (but of course in a bun!) however she seems to be camera shy! The first day I found several photo's - all of which still appear to be truly her. But yesterday I have gone back and decided there are none of her and today there were none of her. Of course, the way things are going, I will likely go look at todays again tomorrow and find a half dozen of her. Maybe I need another hobby!

By the way - no mail from her today either. She probably wrote to her best friend instead of good ol' mom! I fixed that - I started enclosing a self addressed stamped envelope!
