Free UC Transfer Counseling, Trust Me I'm An Expert

Cool IWANNA. Your squared away then.

you wanna? wanna what, mr. erik of the seven seas?.. dont you wanna, wanna fanta?

knix, tell me wut u want, u really really want

knix,

On the subject of fin aid... there is some available. But most of it has an interest rate and requires repayment. ;)

IWANNATRANSFER... i wanna, i wanna, i wanna, i wanna.. i wanna really really really wanna zigazig ahh..

wow knix and iwannatransfer are flaming queers :]

UCLAri.. has an interest rate and requires repayment? oh gosh.. no full- on treat?.. howkei, im really starting to have doubts about applying to UCLA.. you know what UCLAri.. UCLA is a great school, but i guess its just a phenomenal deal if your from cali.. see, i figured that if i got accepted to Cal or UCLA.. (a) i'll be competeing against the more priveleged californians for scholarships and grants, which i feel i have no advantage whatsoever.. (b) if the UC's tuition and fees will increase come year 2006- 2007, then that price hike will eventually equal the private schools' tuition and fees.. (c) i still have to wait for a year to become a cali resident, thats not even guaranteed.. (d) the UC doesnt have grade inflations.. (e) if cali residents find it a struggle to get accpeted into the UC system, then imagine what its like for someone like me who's from fawken illinois..
so.. i have decided to give USC a shot.. what do you think UCLAri? you know better than i do..

kevintech: darling, im a girl.. and yeah, thats very manly of you to use the term "queer".. "flaming queer", to make things worse..

knix,

Even around $22K a year, UCLA is pretty cheap compared to most privates, unless you get a good fin aid package. I would also check into privately funded merit based scholarships. There are many out there, and for someone like you with a very high GPA, many would be easy for you to get.

I'm a Bruin, so telling you to go to USC is heresy. However...

it's really a good school. ;)

Oh and about grade inflation at UCs, don't worry. You'll do just fine.

UCLAri: whoah.. you make it sound like im a genius of some sort.. well, yeah.. ido have a pretty good gpa but tell you what, i suck at math.. i only took one math course because i placed above college algebra in our CC's placement test.. statistics.. and i only got a B-.. i never get an a in math no matter how hard i study.. anyways, yeah.. i get what your saying: you shall never utter the name USC since your from UCLA.. hehe anyways, i think i'll be applying to both USC and UCLA and see what happens.. although 95% of my course load follows the USC's general ed requirement- for some strange reason.. but i never intended to follow their curriculum.. well, i guess its a calling, USC invoking my presence. harhar anyways, yeah.. hey, you think LA is more forgiving to OOS applicants than Cal?.. thanks

knix,

No, they both treat them the same. Sorry. UCLA and Cal have had very similar applicant and admit bodies for the past few years, so you're basically competing against the same pool for both.

I only took statistics at community college too, so don't worry. As long as you completed the IGETC requirements, you'll be fine.

For the record, it wasn't that I'm a complete math idiot. I had already taken calc in high school. Heehee.

Pirates has walked off the plank of collegeconfidential.

Who is here to join me in celebration!!!

knix, its ok to be confused about your sexuality. :]

kevintech: so youre..? is that what your saying? oh i love people like you, y'all are so hilarious.. hehe

UCLAri: i have a few questions for ya, babe.. Cal and LA does not admit spring transfers right? and likewise for transfer applicants with more than 80 transferable units right? and do they ask for youre SATs even if you have more than 30 transferable units? cuz i believe some universities dont bother if you have a certain number of units achieved, is this true for the UC system?.. and um, what do you think will give me an edge as an OOS transfer applicant?.. thanks UCLAri.. big help. and about scholarships, do i stand a chance of getting any even if im an OOSter? i heard OOS transfers have less scholarships and grants opportunities.. is there any truth behind this?

I am a freshman at UPenn and am thinking of transferring to Harvard, BC(Carroll School of Mgmt), and Georgetown(McDonough School of Business). In high school i had about a B+/B GPA with 7 AP classes at the number 1 independent school in the southeast and florida and had 1340 SAT. At Penn, by the end of this first year, I will probably have around 3.3 or 3.4 all while playing Varsity Football here at Penn, which is pretty time consuming. What are my chances of being able to transfer into firstly Harvard? and then Georgetown? I was accepted out of high school to B.C. so I figured it wouldnt be hard to transfer there.

This guy proclaims to be a expert of the UC transfering system, not of transfering into Ivies or other top tiers...

In either case, he doesn't know much and I think he's been banned from these boards...

Are you at Wharton?

No im in the college of Arts and Sciences and don't have the 3.7 GPA you need to transfer into Wharton.

Well, how long have you been at Upenn? I assume this is your first semester? I'd think you'd do better to see the latest you can transfer into Wharton - if you can do it after your freshman year, maybe your best bet is to work really hard next semester to bump your GPA up into the required range. I do not mean to discourage you, but with a 3.4, even from a good school, I think your chances at getting into Harvard are somewhat dubious (though not out of the question). I'd think you'd have good shots at BC and Georgetown. However, I'd think you'd have a better shot at getting to Wharton from CAS, though admittedly, I do not know the details.
