haha i guessed as much... but i didn't want to assume. chico's the answer. but eh, guys r oso quite beauty-conscious these days ya!

:p National Service, then?

yeah... dat explains why i can afford a second year of college apps. even a third, but i will not.

Da.

Man, I would die to...to...just...gargh...I need to hear from Wesleyan or I'll go insane and claw out my hair and beat up my laptop.

haha u can email your AIG rep too? her email address is on that instructions sheet in the application! anw it's Abdullah.sofia@aig.com/email.

I know (enilit and I were talkin' about that) but I feel weird randomly emailing someone I was never in contact with before...and being all the way out here in Romania...makes me feel like I got a even smaller chance than everybody else...and it's like...don't know...it's already midnight in malaysia and it's the weekend...I don't know if she'd check her account on the weekends...

(Argh, I'm doing the annoying "..." thing!)

oh haha. i've emailed quite a few ppl whom I've never been in contact with and perhaps never will thanks to college apps stuff... but it's okay really.

hey '...' is my trademark! u shd see that in most of my posts... although not the previous...

Actually, mate, not a lot of your posts (on this thread at least) have "..." to the point of making me want to vomit.

I'm sorry if I offended you. But I sometimes receive really long long emails from friends and when it's peppered liberally with "...." without paragraph breaks I get a bad headache. (I'm such a dork, I sometimes copy and paste onto Word and put in paragraphs so I can read it... :o)

haha. my '...' only annoys ppl when i type that and only that as a reply on msn

Really? I sometimes type "...." on MSN but that usually means I'm speechless or confuzzled beyond belief.

(I think we're diverting the purpose of this thead. :p)

haha i use '...' for a myriad purposes... speechless, confuzzled, having no comments, or simply to convey a sense of 'i don't really feel like talking to u".

anw, i'm so happy!!! I just emailed Dean Overton (haha talk about emailing ppl u dunno) about my 'rejection'. And he told me that my application was deferred to next year's consideration because I am serving NS right now and can only matriculate next year. The schedule is tight and they only have time to interview 10 applicants so they only interview applicants who are matriculating in that particular year. Which means, I'm not yet rejected!!! Yeah!

OOOOOOH!!!!!

screams OOOOOHHHH!!!!

jumps up and down OOOOOOH, you see, you pessimist!!?!?!?! Hugs you tightly The race isn't over yet for you!!!!

laughs Oh, I'm so excited for you!!!

lols, thanks!! but i'm not a total pessimist actually... i remembered that clause in the instruction sheet about applicants being reconsidered after they completed NS... but i just didn't want to place too much hopes on that. after all, reconsidered means i shd be considered (this year) first! haha but wadeva! oh no the race is gonna be a really long one... 1yr and 2months! gosh.

That is a long time...but I guess it gives you time to prep for...something? confused

Wow...you already kinda got a head start on applicants for next year! :p They're already familiar with you!

erm i dun think i've to do anything next year since i submitted the entire application already... unless they want me to do a writeup of what i have been doing for the past year. haha no headstart lah, the dean would have forgotten me by then...

woebegone: Firstly, Dean Teresa Overton is female, and prefers the pronoun 'she'. If you do intend to come to Wesleyan, be prepared to use 'ze' whenever in doubt. 'Him', 'her', and 'hir' are things you will have to look out for too. Doesn't happen all that often, but it is something you have to be aware of.

You could check with Anand (agopalan@wesleyan.edu) to talk about whether you need to resubmit an application and other stuff like that.

Hir!!!!! I love that word.

We love you, Eric! You be our savior!

cheers for woebegone I hope you get in next year!

andrewlza: Have you gotten anything from the Sofia lady?

enlit: thanks!! i hope u hear from sofia soon!

eric: oops i'm sorry! eh but actually my impression was that she's a lady too... but i remember there was some kind of a debate going on abt dis in CC dat made me change my mind... ah but thanks anw!

eh i emailed anand before but he didn't reply my email (got his email through u actually... i'm dat guy from CC who added u to msn haha)... anw dean overton said she will be sending a formal letter stating the plan to defer consideration and i think i'll be going for the reception for dis yr's finalists too so i should be able to get a rough idea from there yeap.

Hi everyone, this is a Wes applicant from mainland China and I got in Freeman final list as well--they notified me by phone. Great to find there's a special thread abt the scholarship here. Nice to meet u guys and good luck with the coming interview. And congratz to woebegone, you will have a good chance next year:).

Wesleyan Rocks!!!
