G.p.a

Okay I'm a black male who lives out-of-state but am real interested in Wake Forest.
My G.P.A will probably get me rejected but I am still willing to apply.

My first two years of high school I hardly took any honors or A.P. and had a 3.35 unweighted only because my heart was not in school and I had other things going on.

This past semester I took 3 A.P. classes but my G.P.A even suffered more as I got a 3.0 unweighted and 3.5 weighted.

Ever since I heard about Wake Forest my determintation has risen and I am not going to continue this laziness. I am determined to get straight A's for the rest of my high school career but I wonder if it is too late to have a chance at a rising school like Wake.

I've a Junior and hve already taken the ACT as and got a 33.

Do you think if I can get straight A's the rest of the way if I have a chance at Wake Forest.

Also here are my EC's

An upward trend as well as taking harder classes will surely impress. I think you are on the right track. Really, there is nothing you can do about your past grades, so no worries, and just try to do your best for the remainder of your time in HS. Your URM status and your stellar ACT's will help you a lot too.

I agree. Past's the past. Just work on the things you can change now. Make sure your essays are stellar. Make sure you nail the interview.

But yeah, URM status and that ACT score will definitely help. I would definitely recommend applying. Also... try to do well on those AP exams. I think that if you get a C, yet also get a 5 in an AP class, that can be seen differently than a C with a 3. Buy the prep books if need be.

I hope you're over your illness wilmingtonwave!!!

Thanks for the hope and the posts. Of course I also have safety schools I'm looking at but Wake Forest is one of two schools that i'm reaching the stars for and I feel rejuventated(spelled incorrectly I think).
