Here is the deal. I had my dad send out the Cornell financial aid application around December 20th. I told him to read CAREFULLY and that he needed to send in his tax forms and/or a letter of explanation. I even left him a letter with instructions. I had to leave for a national competition in San Diego and told him to send it off whlie I was gone. Well, he sent in the form, but didn’t send in any of that even though it clearly states that without them the application will not be considered, and no late applications are accepted. Am I screwed? I have practically no money for college, so without aid I won’t be able to attend. Cornell was my first choice and this will really suck if my dad is the reason I can’t attend the college I want to.

I had a similar problem myself. First, call the financial aid office or office of admissions and tell them the situation. They should give you someone to contact to send them any corrections/late documents for your financial aid. I wouldn't worry too much, the guy told me a lot of applicants make mistakes when sending in their financial aid document. Just be sure to explain your situation, get your stuff in in a resonable time (Even after the deadline) and you should be fine.

They will accept it after the deadline as long as you explain why. As a current Cornell student, when my sister went to Princeton, I asked for aid about 3 months after the deadline, and got some. While the grant portion may be reduced a bit, they are still surprisingly helpful and flexible. Are you an ED admit?

No I applied RD, but i'm pretty sure I will get in.
