Gap year McGill

<p>So I outlined the problem I'm having in this thread:</p>

<p>Shortly put, Admissions is saying they are not sure whether they will be able to accommodate my request (kind of ridiculous considering how long it took them to get back to me). That aside, I am preparing myself for the worst case scenario.</p>

<p>I'm currently a community college student in the US (Canadian Citizen). 3.82 GPA, with roughly 84 quarter units completed.</p>

<p>If (for the reason mentioned in the thread I linked above), I am unable to get into McGill, would it be fine to move to Montreal, have a gap year, and apply for Fall of 2013? Would there be any disadvantage to doing that? Just preparing for the worst.</p>
