This is the first thread I’ve ever started, so bear with me.

Today I came home unexpectedly early from school to find that a 9 x 12 envelope had arrived from Penn. It contained what I’m pretty sure would be called a likely letter, along with some booklets about the College of Arts and Sciences and research at Penn. I was pretty surprised, considering I’d been expecting to check my decision online in 2 weeks with everyone else (In fact, my friends and I had been couting down practically by the hour). But this is cool too, of course. Now I definitely get the whole point of likely letters…they make the applicants feel special.

Did anyone else get a similar package? I’m sure the majority of decisions will end up being normal online ones, so I hope no one sees this and gets discouraged. Trust me, I’m still waiting for some April 1 decisions too, and the home stretch is practically torturous. Good luck, everyone!

I don't know if I would go to Penn if I got in. Since I'm doing engineering, do you guys think that I should choose Penn over Cal. If so, for what reasons?
I live in Cali btw...

guys, maybe the rest of you will get your letters soon??? because both the guys who've got them so far live right across pennsylvania in N. Jersey....so maybe your mail will get to you soon...

well, if new jersey only got it today, the rest of us probably have a while....I live in ohio, and it takes 2 days for stuff to get here from the east coast.
