Gee whiz! A likely letter

This is the first thread I’ve ever started, so bear with me.

Today I came home unexpectedly early from school to find that a 9 x 12 envelope had arrived from Penn. It contained what I’m pretty sure would be called a likely letter, along with some booklets about the College of Arts and Sciences and research at Penn. I was pretty surprised, considering I’d been expecting to check my decision online in 2 weeks with everyone else (In fact, my friends and I had been couting down practically by the hour). But this is cool too, of course. Now I definitely get the whole point of likely letters…they make the applicants feel special.

Did anyone else get a similar package? I’m sure the majority of decisions will end up being normal online ones, so I hope no one sees this and gets discouraged. Trust me, I’m still waiting for some April 1 decisions too, and the home stretch is practically torturous. Good luck, everyone!

nothing here

I did!!! Yay.

Congratulations. Are you going to go?

bohemian and sax, what are your stats?

what was contained in the package?

Hm... I didn't think Penn sent out likely letters (or any kind of early notification for that matter). I hope I get one! ;)

I don't know if I would go to Penn if I got in. Since I'm doing engineering, do you guys think that I should choose Penn over Cal. If so, for what reasons?
I live in Cali btw...

you mean cal tech? i think you should definitely choose cal tech over penn. (for engineering of course)

guys, maybe the rest of you will get your letters soon??? because both the guys who've got them so far live right across pennsylvania in N. Jersey....so maybe your mail will get to you soon...

CALTECH eng >>>>>>>> Penn eng

however,

Caltech business <<<<<<<<<< PENN business

when was the letter postmarked?

and if you guys dont mind...could you briefly tell us what it said

uh i mean Cal Berkeley... its often called Cal.. (in football news and stuff, which Caltech doesnt have a football team lol)

Has Berkeley already released decisions???

[edit] oh wait. you're in-state. never mind :) I would choose Penn, but I'm biased :)

I repeat.... bohemian and sax, what are your stats?

Me wants a likely letter.

well, if new jersey only got it today, the rest of us probably have a while....I live in ohio, and it takes 2 days for stuff to get here from the east coast.

cal = UC berkely

If you want to be pre-med, pre-law, or I-banking, go penn.
If you just want to be an engineer, go cal.

sorry sorry; busy day. Okay, the requested stats:
