Accepted to Elliot with a Presidential Scholarship of 15k per year.
Stats:
GPA- 4.0 W & 3.8 UW
ACT- 28
Good EC’s, essays, and recs
9 AP classes throughout high school & 6 years of Spanish paid off
Showed a lot of interest in GW
Very, very excited to have been accepted to dream school!
I applied SAT optional too. I got waitlisted. I have 3.72 UW/ 4.62 W gpa. I have taken 7 AP classes in total and the rest of my classes are honors. I have a great essay plus 1300+ hours. I don’t understand. I’ve met with various leads of congress and reps of my state to discuss my non profit organization (which is based on Malala Yousafzai and her goal for women’s education). all the colleges/ unis have gone cray cray this year.
Rejected ~ 1890 SAT, my school doesn’t have a GPA thing but I think mine would be 3.8-ish, lots average ECs (maybe this was why). Kinda bummed bc I really liked GWU
does anybody know how to check the financial aid available? it asks me to enter my GWID and PIN but I have never set my PIN before if I remember it correctly… does anybody have an opinion about this?
Rejected… Sigh… Am I the only one that feels that the amount of effort they put into taking college level courses and basically dedicating their lives to EC’s was a total waste during this whole college admissions process?
Hey guys, accepted with Presidential Academic Scholarship (which is surprising because I’m an international) to the College of Arts and Sciences (undecided).
Good luck to everyone!
Accepted into the political communication program! I did receive a scholarship, but it wasn’t quite enough. I’ve heard that GW is pretty good about working with you with financial aid, does anyone know if this is true and any tips for contacting them and asking for some help/aid?
Waitlisted-- poli Sci 1940 SAT 3.8 GPA, Excellent EC’s (class pres, officer of 5 different clubs, member of 10 clubs/organizations, District champs swim team, track, dance team, 2 part-time jobs, intern for a US congressional campaign, con law summer class at Georgetown, summer program through the Eisenhower Institute), family connection (my sister is currently a student), great recs, great essays(at least I thought), I also play the cello, sing in the choir, and am part of a musical theater group directed by a retired Broadway star
Very dissapointed!
Hoping for the best but not too optimistic because I need financial assistance and GW doesn’t have a good rep with accepting waitlisted students who can’t pay full tuition!
You emailed them for the ID because you weren’t getting any emails from the university right? I have not received any emails whatsoever from GW since I submitted my application in January. I’m really worried that they never got my application! I emailed admission tonight, hopefully they will get back to me soon. @SippinCoffee
Accepted arts and sciences with 37,700 in scholarships/“free” money (I don’t include loans or work study in my estimated cost). 1420 CR/M, 4.0 GPA, decent extracurriculars and essays. Unfortunately all of the schools I’m accepted to are costing roughly the same, so I’m not sure if I’ll attend GW or not.
I was rejected but invited to join the Paris Scholars’ program and then subsequently be placed at GWU sophomore year (following a year abroad). Does every rejected student receive this offer? Unsure of if this is an outright rejection or a “conditional acceptance.”
Sorta disappointed… 3.89 gpa, 31 ACT, 2100 SAT really good essays, but I have to admit that I did not “demonstrate” my LOVE of the school, mostly because it was not even on my radar. I guess they really take that part into account.
