So I’ve heard, but I don’t know by how much.
any other waitlist people going to take their offer to stay on the waitlist?
@NICE8x I confess! I am not smarter than a 5th grader
tfw you get $100,000 merit scholarship but still can’t afford to go after the financial aid comes through
That was a satire piece…
How prestigious is the presidential scholarship? Anyone know what percent of students get it?
should I consider going to GWU since I got a 20k scholarship? Or would I receive a better education at Lehigh or Gettysburg?
@Lana22, GWU/Lehigh to Gettysburg is like orange to apple. look at course catalogs of those three schools. You’ll see that GWU, and Lehigh offer traditional business programs with clear, deep structure, and research oriented, especially upper level courses. Gettysburg on the other hand combines liberal arts into general business, so their program is different, and cannot match that at university business department. Gettysburg only offers pre-business program. GWU, and Lehigh offer branches of business from marketing, finance, insurance, supply/chain.
That is why US News does not include liberal arts schools in business ranking. It took me a while to understand that after talking to business professors at Penn State and Dickinson.
From the money point of view, you can compare orange to orange between Lehigh and GWU. I suggest you talk to business professors at those schools. They will help you make a good decision.
@rbandrews The Pres scholarship is a tool to sway the decision of admits to become enrollees. It was a factor in my daughter’s decision. When we went to one of the several Accepted Student days, the Presidential Scholarship breakfast was held in a gymnasium filled to capacity with students. But congrats, because there are plenty of folks who do not receive the scholarship.
Do more people typically go to inside GW/admitted students day or the Colonial Inauguration thing in june? Or both?
Does anyone know when we officially find out our majors (I got into Columbian College of Arts and Sciences but it doesn’t say my major)? Will they tell us if they gave us our alternatives or is it certain that the one we put down for first choice was given to us?
Are the honors program admission messages personalized? I’ve heard from two people that what they say is slightly different based on the student but it appears generic. Is this what others got too?
You have been admitted to the University Honors Program! We believe your academic achievement, intellectual curiosity, and strong writing ability make you a perfect match with the program. You bring a distinct perspective to our community of scholars, and we look forward to your insight and contribution to the life of this dynamic program.
@ri0tvan My acceptance says the same time.
@REP26x2 you’re required to go to CI, the cost is included in your deposit. You should attend an accepted students day if you can.
I’m so torn right now. I don’t think I will get accepted to NYU, so now I have to decided between Fordham and GW for economics. Any thoughts? Thanks!
@jbruno GW.
I was accepted to GWU with a 25k/year scholarship. I am deciding b/w there and University of Michigan for pre-med. Any advice?
My D was wait listed and has accepted the offer to stay on. Wondering her chances. She was also wait listed at American. Total yield protection at AU. Her stats were above average but apparently she didn’t demonstrate enough interest.
I am trying to decide between University of Michigan and George Washington for international studies/affairs. I know GW has the better program but it also doesn’t have much of a school spirit or social life from what I’ve heard. Anyone have any opinions??
@rbandrews I’m in the exact same situation. Did you get accepted to Elliott too?
