George Washington RD 2020

I pretty much asked them “would there be any way of checking whether or not I was sent a likely letter?” And the lady was very nice to me and gave me an answer! And yes, I live in northern Virginia about 50 minutes away from GWU!

Has anyone called and asked when they think decisions will be released

Decisions will be released in two weeks they said!

@yalebound2020 Definitely FA. and yes, gtown is far more impressive but I do really like GWU

I’m a little surprised I didn’t receive a likely letter in CT. My stats aren’t super impressive, 2150 SAT and 4.3 weighted GPA, but I had good essays and extra curriculars and I thought I made it pretty clear that GW was a top choice for me.

Same here — I applied to the honors program (this counts as demonstrated interest, right?) and my college counselor told me that she was absolutely sure I would get in. I’m from Chicago

@matildak6 I’m surprised you didn’t get one either!
@elc2435 Yes, I’ve been told that does show demonstrated interest.
My D applied “test optional”. Not really sure they are sincere about why they went test optional but we shall see.

@CDOESenior2k16 congrats!! what part of Ohio do you live in?

@HappyFace2018 I may call and ask if I was on the list but I feel sort of cocky doing that. I would like to know though because this makes me pretty nervous for some of my other decisions.

@matildak6 I’d say go for it — they’ve probably made all their decisions by now so you have nothing to lose by asking

@radgreek I know a girl from my school who got a likely letter and we live in FL

@briggs23 Thanks  Southwest Ohio, what about you?

I’ve called twice and been put on hold for 15 minutes collectively… So maybe I’ll just have to wait til the 24th :-/

Oops, actually someone did pick up… And told me that it’s an automatic system that sends them out and they’re not able to tell us… Hmm

My D just called and the guy said by April 1. He didn’t give the exact date.

The guy actually sounded very surprised that I was asking him about likely letters

I recall looking through previous years acceptance threads and it looks like the last Friday in of March, if that means anything.

I’m from Southern California and I received a “likely” letter last Friday. Super stoked!

SAT: 2100
GPA: 4.45 (weighted); 3.94 (unweighted)
Extracurricular involved competitive sport/internships/music

I’m from central coast of California and I received a likely letter!! I love the security that I know I at least have this university as an option.

ACT: 32
GPA: 4.24 (W) 3.91 (UW)
EC: Eagle Scout, among top 5 oboists in state, founder/president of Queer-Straight Alliance, etc

I know that not receiving a likely letter doesn’t mean you won’t get in, but I would have liked to know I was a candidate GW was excited about :expressionless:
