@caroline8790 i heard they are coming on the 24th. i usually set a buffer so i would expect sometime between the 22nd and 27th
Where did you hear this??? And if I go to a boarding school in CT, will the letter go there or to my house in Boston?
Spring break for GU starts on 3/28. I expect letters to be mailed either March 23 or March 26. I believe they were mailed March 24 last year.
How are you two figuring? I love smart speculation.
How will we know they’ve been mailed? Do they tweet?
They were mailed last year the morning of the first day of EA accepted students weekend, which was the 24th. This year its March 23th, so that’s when I’m expecting them to be mailed.
I’m with you, @halfdust. I don’t think they want to mess with decisions coming during the Triduum (the Catholics out there know what I mean, lol). It’s already Passion tide according to my priest’s homily, hahaha. They would certainly not mess with Easter! Mailing on the 23rd gets the decisions to virtually all places before Holy Thursday. The waiting is our Lenten penance.
@Winky1, if past is prologue, it seems reasonable that it would be March 23. Emory announced they will post to their portal on March 22nd so it’s going to be an interesting week, although I don’t expect the GU letter to be delivered before March 27th!
We are in PA. We COULD get the letter on Monday, March 26th. Possibly. I think the 27th would be the latest for us if it was mailed on the 23rd.
Two-day zone here! If they send it out on 23rd and mail comes on Sunday, then I would have it by the 25th.
I’m a tad confused. 47 cent postage means it’s a denial? Other (assuming, greater) postage would imply an acceptance?
But mail doesn’t come on Sundays?
Admissions tweeted when decisions were mailed last year. Mail goes to the General Mail Facility. If they are mailed next Friday, even DC folks don’t typically get the results on Saturday. Expect Monday at the earliest. No mail delivery on Sunday. Postage is .47 for wait list or denial. Financial aid is also .47 and it comes in a separate envelop from the decision. .67 for acceptance. (At least last year)
Aren’t stamps now 50 cents each? I bought some last week…
@MrElonMusk Good point. If postage has gone up, then the letters will reflect that change.I can’t recall what the current rate is. Or if they use “forever” stamps bought at the lower rate?
Hm, I’ve gotten packages on Sunday, but I just looked it up and apparently that’s different than standard mail. So, yeah, 26th-27th sounds right.
@Seekwise Deposit was $900
Super nervous… Only a week to go!
Anyone else apply as a Japanese major?
My deferral for this year was .47 cents and i saw the acceptances were .67 cents
During the GU EA phase, letters were mailed on Wednesday, December 13th. USPS showed us in a suburb of metro Atlanta to be 2 day which would have been a Friday delivery. The EA deferral letter came on Saturday. Yes, no need to open it to know the result, as it was the lower 46 cent postage! Looking for over 60 cents this round :-).
If these RD letters end up being mailed on Friday, March 23, as many are speculating, I doubt we would see them delivered to Metro Atlanta by Monday, March 26th. Most likely scenario would be Tuesday, March 27th for Atlanta and probably the 28th or later for rural Georgia.
