***Georgetown 2022 Applicants Discussion***

So, can you use the USPS picture service and view the postage to basically tell whether or not you got in even before you have the mail in your hands??

@NYcollege2022 Yes. It was taking forever to receive mail for the EA round. Maybe because of holiday mailing and there was a weekend thrown in there. IDK but 3 days from DC to MA was painfully long. A lot of people suggested the informed mail route.

Informed delivery is not available in my area :frowning: I don’t know why, because I live in NYC

So if they do mail it on 23rd will international students receive an email on 26th?

i’m not sure if this helps anyone but i just got a reply from admissions:

Thank you for your email. Our official announcement date is April 1st for all first-year applicants. If your high school is located outside of the United States then you will receive both an email and mailed letter with your decision on or around April 1st.

@anyexreita, thanks for posting this. I called them last December, a few days prior to mailing the EA letters, and got a similar party line. I guess they do not want to over promise before they know they can deliver.

What email address did you use to contact them?

Does anyone know if letters will be sent to my home address or to my boarding school?

@jjmaccs the undergrad admissions email: guadmiss@georgetown.edu

the letter should be sent to the mailing address you provided for them. i believe you had to specify whether you wanted your permanent address to be the same as your mailing one, but i guess you can still update them if you want to make changes rn

im really nervous, I was deferred EA, would someone please chance me on being admitted:

interview went really well and my interviewer told me i would be a perfect fit for GU

Did anyone see the tweet from Georgetown Twitter that said “record your admissions reactions THIS WEEK and send them in with #Hoya2022” (or something to that effect). The big part being THIS WEEK?

@“WVOR357$” I take it that we’re gonna get our decisions by this Friday then…

Oh my goodness… @“WVOR357$”
Could this just mean that they’re being mailed out this week, like we estimated?

That is my hope, but someone on the other GU RD thread speculated that it could have just been terribly worded/a mistake. All of this is speculative I suppose. @MrElonMusk

Check out the RD thread.

Based on the message, I would hope the letters come in this week as opposed to being mailed this week. (how could you post your reaction if it was just being mailed) but at this point, it is difficult to know for sure! @writergirl0316

Hey guys I think it’s worth to know…

I received an email from UPS today, saying I got a 0.5 LBS mail from East US.
And GU happened to be the only school I applied for that sent mails to applicants.
BTW Intl student from Shanghai

It said that the mail arrival time will be 23rd March in Shanghai, so I believe it’s 22nd March for domestic students!
Good luck all

@k41500, according to GU, if you were deferred last December, your chances of admission are approximately 10%. Good luck.

@Nomorelurker , what if you weren’t deferred and are RD?

This cycle of admissions has been just brutal. D waitlisted at Case Western Reserve last night after being deferred from EA. That’s after coming off of a BU acceptance where tons of highly qualified kids were either denied or offered a Guaranteed Transfer.

I am no longer looking forward to finding out the last 3 decisions!

Please post if you have USPS Informed Delivery, and about postage amounts. Dread.
