@Winky1, I could be mistaken but I think it was posted some months back that GU RD students may have slightly higher chance of admission now, perhaps up to 15%. Agree this is a stressful time of the month/year for students and parents. Many decisions are coming out in the next couple of weeks. Sorry to hear about D waitlist at CWR. S was also waitlisted last week at WashU. Many top 20 or even 30 schools are reaches and the expectation should be realistic. Most will not gain admission with the tough odds, yet some do and anything is possible. Most importantly, admission or not, it does not define the student. We do have USPS Informed Delivery but I suspect others in the one day zone will be posting long before I do :-). Good luck!
@Nomorelurker , my D was denied at Wash U last week. Thankful for the 2 solid acceptances she has, because quite frankly, they might be her only ones.
@Winky1 , the wait can be brutal, but sounds like your D has some solid choices already, as does my S. Will be glad when April is here!
@Nomorelurker Where did you get those admissions chances? RD applicants have a higher chance of getting in than EA applicants. But once you are all in the same pool, everyone has the same chance regardless of whether you were deferred or not. GU is the only school where it is harder to get in EA than RD.
@apdns19 I received a deferral letter in December that stated admissions rate for those deferred is 10%
It is equally hard to get in EA and RD so…
Thanks @MrElonMusk. I didn’t know if there was something recently posted that was being referred to. Good luck!
your stats look similar to mine and i got in EA, good luck!
Just want to reiterate, as said above, that if you have UPS Informed Delivery, please let us know what it says for you. Thanks!
UPS or USPS??
USPS, sorry! @LOA1000
Checking now
Informed delivery says I have 0 mail waiting for me/any that will arrive.
Has any domestic applicant seen anything relevant in Informed Delivery?
The admit rate for EA was 12% this year. The RD admit rate will be between 16-17%. It is, in fact, harder to get in EA at Georgetown than RD. Georgetown is one of the only schools that I know of where the EA rate is lower than the RD. Why is this true? Good question.
@LOA1000 For EA, the letter appeared in our Informed Delivery email. It wasn’t great to see the wrong postage. We turned it on because it was taking so long for the mail to come and we got caught up in all of the waiting, but in the end, I didn’t really like finding out that way.
@apdns19 thanks for the info. And you’re domestic?
For those who see something in Informed Delivery, does it come up as a mail piece or a package?
@LOA1000 The EA mail from GT showed up on informed delivery as a regular letter (not a package) on the day it was to be delivered. You can see a scanned picture of the front of the envelope with the postage $. I think it was $0.67 cents for accepted and $0.47 for deferred. Hope that helps.
@Quantjock Thank you!
@LOA1000 yes. I live in Massachusetts.
