How would one even go about turning informed delivery on? what account do you need to have and for what company?
@“WVOR357$” You can sign up for Informed Delivery at USPS.Com.
.
I wanted to know would this also work for international Students or is it only for Domestic students?
@Diabolicity Domestic only. And it is only available in some areas.
Thanks! @VAMom23
They’re sending out decisions? Through mail?
Yes, through mail.
@“WVOR357$” go to the usps website: https://informeddelivery.usps.com/box/pages/intro/start.action. Follow the instructions.
I’m not gonna sign up for it because it just ruins the element of surprise.
According to post #217 (user is from Shanghai) it is not only domestic students who can see something under Informed Delivery. Also, even if you’re a domestic applicant and sign up, there’s no guarantee you’ll see anything just yet, as I haven’t.
@MrElonMusk wouldn’t the surprise be the same, only at a different time? It’s like with a baby’s sex. It could be a surprise at 3 months or 9 months. Same surprise, different time.
@LOA1000 Informed Delivery is a United States Postal Service product. As such, it is available nationally, not internationally. It was expanded in 2017 to include P.O. Boxes, so perhaps the poster has a U.S. P.O. Box.
Informed Delivery shows you what you can expect to be delivered to your mailbox same day. There is sometimes, a delay, however, in that an item is scanned by not ready for delivery until the next day. It doesn’t pick up all items (those that aren’t sorted). It does not show what the expected delivery is days in advance.
Wait so this is coming this week? I thought Georgetown would usually explicitly post on Twitter when they have mailed out decisions.
help- is georgetown worth the money? I got in EA but would have to pay full tuition and want to go to med school, which would mean a ton of loans. how does the premed at georgetown compare to umd? i’d really appreciate the help im very confused
I cannot take this wait! Georgetown is my first choice, but things just look grim for me at this point after reading other people’s stats, who knows though, hopefully their holistic review helped me. Only a week left! I’m dying inside!
International students will not get a physical letter–rather, they get an email about 3 days after the snail mail has been sent out. Also, regarding the twitter post, it’s likely to be referring to EA applicants, as EA accepted student weekend is this weekend. Georgetown will likely send their letters around the same time as they did last year.
I would not pay full freight at GU if you plan to go to med school afterwards, unless it’s really easy for your family to cover. The loans just aren’t worth it, and they cripple your options afterwards. GU is a great school but you can do great things at UMD too, particularly in the sciences, and then go to GU etc. for medical school.
@masquerade98 Wait so international students don’t get any mail at all or is the email just a way of communicating faster as they don’t know how long it might take and we would eventually receive the letter.
the office told me that internationals receive both mail and email, but the email will obviously come by earlier
Are we expecting Georgetown letters to start arriving today/tomorrow based on the tweet they posted?
