@matt10121 yes please!
Does anyone have the format for the stats post?
There really isn’t a format, just say your test scores, gpa, extra curriculars.
Are you sure it was 47 cents? Everything else points to that not being the case…
anyone from CA get anything yet?
Isn’t the price based partly on destination though? Honestly, I don’t know. We’re millennials. I’ve honestly never sent a letter.
Nevermind. My gen x dad told me it doesn’t matter. ?
Nothing in Indiana today.
price is based on how heavy the letter is! people say acceptance letters are usually around 70 cents because they send more than one sheet of paper!

Summer Activities: Working, soccer, and community service from above (I didn’t have a lot of different activities I was just consistent with them throughout hs)
Essays (rating 1-10, details):
Essay 1: Talents: 6/10 I talked about working well independently and in a group, but it was kinda basic and the last sentence also cut off so I had to submit an application change.
Essay 2: Extra Curricular: 7/10 I talked about how involved I am at my job at the Christian Camp and how it has shaped me.
Essay 3: Personal essay: 8/10 It was a really weird essay and I compared myself to a chameleon and how they change colors. But it was slightly basic and wasn’t that specific.
Essay 4: Georgetown College: 9/10 I talked about how being truly educated is about respecting all forms of diversity and how Georgetown College and its different requirements will help me reach that. I think it showed I cared enough to do research.
Recommendations (rating 1-10, details):
I DIDNT READ THESE
Teacher Rec #1: 8/10 AP Calc AB teacher: She knew me pretty well and was able to talk about the two classes I took senior year completely on my own.
Teacher Rec #2: 8/10 AP US Gov teacher: She knew how much I liked to learn about politics and she probably was able to talk about how eager I was in her class to go over expectations.
Counselor Rec: I honestly don’t know, I would assume around 7/10 since I got in and she has written successful recs for me in the past, but we aren’t extremely close.
Additional Rec: None
Interview: So my interviewer had a really busy schedule and we had to resort to doing a video chat which was still great. It lasted around an hour and I basically talked about everything important to me and why I want to go to Gtown. It wasn’t awkward but nothing super special happened. NOTE: He said interviews can never hurt you they only ever help if they like what they hear.

Reflection
Strengths: My essays for the most part were pretty good, and my work experience probably helped. I also had a big college counseling scholarship that was able to write additional recommendation materials to gtown.
Weaknesses: Scores weren’t the best, not a lot of advanced classes offered, few clubs at my school
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: I guess for the most part I was in range for them and I assume my essays, extra curricular activities, and recommendations helped.
Where else were you accepted/deferred/rejected: Accepted: Drexel, Temple, Fordham, Baylor, Depaul
General Comments : Please don’t stress too much over this type of stuff guys. Clearly I am not the perfect student. Yes you have to be somewhat in range for the school but if your schools doesn’t have a lot of opportunities or you didn’t do amazing on your subject tests that is OKAY. They use holistic admissions. Try to show how you have gone above the norms at your school, that is what a lot of my application was about. Good luck everyone!!
I’m in Utah too, haven’t gotten anything yet. Please let me know when you get your letter…so nervous!!
And yes the acceptance came in a 47 cent postage envelope. In big red letters it says 47 cents in the top corner. When I saw it before opening I got super upset, even though it felt really thick for one paper. Then I opened it and saw like four papers and knew it couldn’t be a deferral. This might not always be the case though obviously.
Just checked my mail. Nothing in Central Texas.
currently sitting in my dining room facing the window so I can watch my mailbox this is a new low for me
@oliviafroot same af
Mail has arrived in Alexandria, Virginia. Nothing from Georgetown.
Nothing in the mail today for me in RI. Do we know if they send an email/update the portal today for US residents or is it exclusively snail mail?
It seems like a lot of people didn’t receive it in the mail today. Fingers crossed for Monday!!
I live in Maryland and still haven’t received anything. Pretty anxious!! And I believe it’s just via snail mail.
In Reston Virginia, mail came w no letter, after not being able to do anything all day bc stress. Monday had better come quickly
