Georgetown 2023 Applicants Discussion

@AC2023 did you submit an update?

@hg0987, it is 100% true. Postage in the .40’s means not accepted.

@hg0987 supposedly for EA, kids were getting both outcomes from both type stamps, (I received a deferral with a .47) but it still appeared to be a trend where .47 = reject and the other one .6something was accepted

Maybe it also depends on where you are. DS was admitted in EA round and the stamp was 68c. We are in CA and didn’t get the letter till Monday of the following week.

Sorry if this is already posted. Class of 2023 Official Notification Date for Georgetown is?

is it a bad sign if you didn’t submit an update other than midyear transcripts and you dont have a green box?

Hey guys! So my job requires me to do a lot of stuff with postage so I just thought I would let everyone know that is based on weight and the cost was just updated, so what you to be 47 cents is now 50 cents. Same weight and probably same decision, but different cost. I think 68 is still in the 60s though. I wouldn’t place too much stock in any of this, but I just didn’t want anyone to freak out for the wrong reasons…

What does having the green box signify?

I don’t have a green box but my checkmarks are gone. All I sent was midyear grades after the initial application…

Green box? Is that for EA’s who were deferred who sent in additional info?

I applied Early Action and was deferred. I sent in all of my additional information months ago. I have no no green box. I think it’s just showing up for people that just recently submitted new things to their application. To be honest, I don’t think it means anything beyond that.

And has everyone’s checklist disappeared, or just some people’s? Mine has, as well as that page that showed your application type, start date, and submission date, and that allowed you to create a new application. It was the page between where you first log in and where it actually shows your recent activities and used to show your checklist. I haven’t seen anyone post about this yet.

are they coming out tonight?

I don’t know if anyone else has asked or posted the answer to this, but does anyone know when are letters being mailed out?

We don’t know the exact date, but people are predicting tomorrow, with the first letters showing up in Informed Delivery to some East Coasters beginning this Saturday or Monday.

so theres no online decision its just by mail?

@lolgirl123 correct. Comes by snail mail.

what about international students?

If I live near Georgetown, do you guys think I’ll get my letter tomorrow or Saturday?

Based on what a lot of my other colleges have done (I’m an international applicant) we’ll probably be getting online notifications at the same time as the mail gets sent out for domestic applicants. International students are usually first to hear back when it comes to schools that use snail mail. This was the case with AU, which sent out their snail mail on Monday at the same time as I received my acceptance notification. (I could be wrong about this though — this just seems to be the general trend with US colleges).

I think the time period may be faster than when EA came out because there was a lot of weather issues causing mail to slow back in November/December. American University mailed theirs out on Monday and I just received it here in southern california today
