@mkb679 From what I have heard you should receive them by Saturday. Based on the thread for last year, if you don’t get it by the following Monday (12/17) you can call and you can receive your answer over the phone, but personally I’d rather just wait on the letter lol.
We’ll see how everything goes! I’m not sure if I want to apply to more schools after this decision or be happy with what I have for now. 3 for 3, hopefully 4 for 4.
@RFM1617 I applied to georgetown college for english! I am Big Nervous
Does anyone know when they mail the letters? I assumed they mailed them next Saturday, but it now seems like we should all get them by next Saturday, so just curious.
I saw that they said 12/15 last year and people actually got their letters on 12/13, maybe a couple days before?

So they mailed them out Saturday the 8th. This means that based on where you live, it will take a different amount of time to be mailed out. Also, keep in mind that the post office doesn’t work on Sunday. This being said, if you’re on the West Coast or South it’ll take longer than if you’re in the Northeast or Midwest.
“Also, keep in mind that the post office doesn’t work on Sunday”
True but the mail still travels on that day. So as long as those letters got to the PO in time to be sorted and sent out, a Sunday closing won’t delay much except perhaps DC or close-in MD or VA residents who might need to wait till Monday. If they are still waiting in a big bag at the PO, the sorting won’t begin till Monday so Tues. at the earliest. Of course, if these are all treated as bulk mail everything will take longer. If they are 1st Class mail, different story.
Wow. You are very knowledgeable on the postal system. Kudos to you on that. If you’re right, then that should be exciting news for NE kids.
@Sidvin24 do you have a source saying that they were mailed out on the 8th? I’ve been searching but I can’t find anywhere that says that they were in fact mailed
@fvalverd So my friend (who goes to a private Catholic school in the NE) has private college counselors at his school. They’re the ones who are saying that it was all sent out on the 8th.
So if that’s true we should be hearing something this week?
Last year they tweeted out when they sent the EA letters. They have yet to tweet anything this year.
@Sidvin24 ahhhh okay!
Last year, Georgetown Admissions (@gogeorgetown) sent out a tweet when decision letters were mailed (last year it was on December 12?). There’s no mention of scores being mailed yet…
Correction, it was December 13th…
"Signed, sealed, and (soon-to-be) delivered - the Office of Undergraduate Admissions mailed Early Action decision letters for the Class of 2022 today! Hoya Saxa! #Hoyas2022
5:15 PM - 13 Dec 2017"
Counselors are wonderful people but they of course are hearing rumors themselves so this information about the 8th is really beyond 3rd hand at this point. The best source of information would be the Admissions office. If they mailed letters and tweeted out last year on Wed. the 13th, it’s most likely they’ll mail letters and tweet out this year on Wed. the 12th.
Waiting to hear back on Saturday for my EA Application to Georgetown for Human Science in the NHS! Very nervous, a lot of people from my school have applied this year. My father has 2 friends who went to GT who wrote recommendations for me, does anyone know if this is helpful?
Supposedly by the 15th
It was said that last year the letters were mailed out late due to how Georgetown’s schedule aligned with the date of release or something so we could expect them to be mailed out even before Wednesday
