Georgetown 2023 Applicants Discussion

Any idea then when they would email internationals?

I am super nervous. I live in MA, so I hope they come within the next couple of days. Quick question, is the admission decision guaranteed by the 15th?

@classof20xx unfortunately no, last year people received their decisions on the 16th and beyond. alas, the inefficiencies of snail mail

Has Georgetown posted anything anywhere about when it’s sending out decisions?

I have a question: since the 15th is on the weekend will we still get them on the actual 15th? I assume GTown will send them out prior to that so we do but you never know…

I really don’t want to wait ‘till Monday lol, GTown is my top choice and these college decisions are like the first thing that have actually given me bad anxiety before.

Recommenders who went there will be somewhat helpful if the actual writing is great as well. It’d be helpful because they can more easily talk about how you would be a good fit for the school.

A family connection I have wrote a letter of endorsement to the regional admissions counselor. I’m applying to the SFS and he’s part of the Master’s SFS Advisory Board (the one with King Felipe of Spain and Princess Ghida of Jordan). Can anyone tell me how useful that will be?

I have never been so nervous in my life!! but in a fun and exciting way lol :))

The EA decisions come out on Saturday!!! I am honestly so scared. I’ve wanted this since 7th grade.

@natalia_bnm Do you have a reliable source for that information and if so, do you mean decisions will be mailed on Saturday?

Letter should be at our houses by the 14/15th, latest the monday after? Pretty sure they’ll be here by the weekend though!!! Fingers crossed and good luck to everyone!!

From the Georgetown website: “Early Action applicants should submit all materials by November 1, and will be notified by the admissions committee of their admissions decision by December 15.” Hopefully, they’ll arrive before the 15th, but they shouldn’t come any later than that.

Like everyone else, I’m pretty nervous, Georgetown is my top choice… good luck to all! Remember, the worst that can happen is a deferral, which while not ideal, is better than a rejection at least.

I AM SO NERVOUS AHHHHHHHH MY DECISION COULD COME ANY DAY NOW AND I AM NOT READY

Has anyone heard any inside scoop about when the letters will be mailed? It looks like in the past 3 years they were mailed as early as the 11th and as late as the 13th.

I would think that tomorrow is the absolute latest that letters could be sent out, especially since they have to travel to the west coast. my best guess would be today or tomorrow for sure, and I can’t imagine that anyone will receive them until Friday at the earliest. I wish I had some actual information to share but unfortunately that’s all I’ve got. good luck everyone!!

Looks like last year Georgetown admissions tweeted at 5PM ET on the day it mailed the letters (Wednesday the 13th)

Georgetown Admissions just Tweeted: “Early decision letters are in the mail!”

Do they use USPS priority shipping?

Letters in the mail!!! Good luck everyone!’

? @GeorgetownJack would like to announce that decision letters for Early Action applicants are in the mail! Jack can’t wait to welcome the first members of #Hoya2023 to the Georgetown family ?
