Wait you got your decision?

noo…relief that international’s get it ONLINE.

Ohhh, makes sense! God, I’m gonna be ****ed if I got all excited about today and it doesn’t come…

You guys haven’t done your research correctly. I understand we are all excited to hear from Georgetown, but I unfortunately have bad news. Georgetown usually sends its decisions in the mail the last day of classes. This year, Tuesday is the last day (Source: G’Town Students). Meaning most of us can expect decisions to arrive in Thursday. I hope I am pleasantly surprised today or tomorrow, but I believe we will start receiving letters Thursday.

The calendar on their website says Classes end 12/7 and Registration Completion Ends 12/11.

Website could outdated because of Sandy. It’s possible I misunderstood my friends though. But if letters were indeed mailed Friday, one would think we would be seeing decisions by now.

Long Island – nothing in the mail today :-(

Try not to worry. You’ll all know soon enough. So far my daughter doesn’t know they might be here before the 15th and I like it that way. Our mail arrives in the next hour or two. If she gets the word I’ll post.

Didn’t come…

Where do you live? Boston?
I live 20 minutes away from DC so hopefully mine will come today

Mail came already in MD, 20 minutes from Georgetown. Nothing.

Mail just arrived here in Ohio, Nothing.
Our mail is always slow anyway.

My oldest daughter is a junior in SFS at Georgetown. She applied EA and received her decision letter exactly on December 15, as Georgetown had told her she would. A person at her high school who was rejected EA received his rejection letter on 12/15 that year.

My 17 year old daughter is a senior in high school and has applied at Georgetown EA. On 12/1/12 she received an email from Georgetown with the following statement: “Early Action candidates can expect to receive a decision letter by the 15th of December.”

For those of you wanting to “chance” yourselves, at the freshman orientation convocation in 2010, the GU provost said that a little over 50% of the incoming freshmen ranked 1, 2 or 3 in their high school.

My daughters are both valedictorians of their high school classes with very high GPAs. It’s tough to get into Georgetown with less than a stellar high school record unless you are a legacy. At freshman orientation in 2010, we met quite a few families where a parent had gone to Georgetown and who had more than one child attending Georgetown.

BTW, my daughter who is already at Georgetown loves it, and we love visiting Georgetown and DC. My wife wishes she could attend. :-)

Good luck!

I live in DC, about 2 miles away from GU and I didn’t get a letter today. It’s official, D-Day is not today!

Just so everybody knows, I decided to call admissions and see what they said. She confirmed that it hasn’t been mailed yet, which means d-day won’t be till Thursday (very little chance), Friday (Solid chance), or Saturday (absolute last day). I would guess that it’s being mailed tomorrow or Wednesday!

FlaPops, thanks for sharing this information, congratulations on your daughters!
How challenging were their high school courses, were they in the IB program, how many AP classes did they take? Did they attend private or public institutions?
Thank you

Georgetown said that decisions were in the mail already. She said that the earliest we would get them is the 15th but I think she misspoke because she said the letters were sent out already.

That’s interesting manta ray because I was told they were already sent. Such confusion!!!

Nothing in upstate NY. So were decisions sent already or not? Honestly, email would be so much easier…

I am so confused. Has anyone else called to see? That person can be the tie breaker. I’m guessing they weren’t mailed, but the person did say they were sent.
