I live approximately 30 minutes north of Georgetown, did not receive a decision in the mail today.

I just got off the phone with the Admissions Office. The woman said that decisions will be mailed Thursday, December 13th. Nothing has been mailed yet. Good luck to all!

Haha she wasn’t very clear when I called for what it’s worth. It sort of sounded like she was reading a script.

yep, i live in NOva 20 minutes away from GU and no letter…

i’m pretty confident that i will get in though… or at least i hope
i’m number 2 in my class and i have some solid extracurriculars

@omzac

wait really? darn that means i won’t get it until friday…
and people who live far away won’t get it until next week…

But how can they say we’ll all get them by the 15th if they mail them only 2 days earlier?! Would it be possible for them to send letters, say, to California before they put the ones for MD and NoVa in the mail??

This what the person told me when I called. However, there is so much conflicting information out there, who knows? One thing is certain, they were not sent out on December 7th as originally believed. I think that the turmoil surrounding Hurricane Sandy set the Admissions Office back a couple of days. This waiting is soooo hard.

I really need my decision soon! I really like georgetown an I want to know I got in so I can throw some schools off my list before deadlines!

That’s true. I didn’t think about Sandy delays. We’ll just have to wait and see, I suppose.

That’s a relief in a way. Now I can go about the week in blissful ignorance.

From playing with the postage calculator, the latest it can mailed and still get to me here in ohio (which is already relatively close to DC) by Saturday is this Wednesday, for what that’s worth!

I called the admissions office and confirmed that they have not yet mailed out decisions. They’re now aiming to have them delivered by “the 15th or slightly after.”

 So I mugged the mailman for no reason?

Based on old threads, it seems like it would be appropriate to call regarding admissions decisions on the 18th, three days after we were supposed to get our letters. That would be next Tuesday…is that info accurate??

I can’t believe they might not even have sent them yet! I’m going to go crazy if we have to wait another week!

I think it’s the best bet to assume that we are going to get the letters on Saturday. If we do happen to get them earlier, then that would be good news.

If I don’t get it this week, I’m going to go crazy.

I’ll try posting this again since it was overlooked last time. Looking at past threads, G’Town usually sends the decisions out the day before exams. According to that trend, the letters will be sent out tomorrow (Source: [2012-2013 Academic Calendar - University Registrar](http://registrar.georgetown.edu/academic-calendars/previous-year/) ) Meaning some could see decisions Thursday, most Friday, and the remainder on Saturday and Sunday. This, however, does not take Sandy into effect…

One year ago, our daughter was in the same wait state as all of you. We live in CA and she received her envelope in the mail on Dec 12. Unfortunately she was not accepted EA. Instead her application was deferred to Regular Decision review. In fact anyone not accepted EA was/is automatically deferred which at the time still felt like a rejection.

It was a very difficult, emotional day no question. To protect herself, she stopped thinking about Georgetown completely. Then at the very end of March, her very last college reply came in the mail from Georgetown. The look on her face when she read that she got accepted was really wonderful to see. She is now enjoying her freshman year as a Hoya.

So even if you get a deferral, don’t give up hope. Good luck to you all.

Ugh I don’t know how I would feel about a deferral -> acceptance. I’m the kind of person who would take that as they didn’t really want me and they just had some space left over.
