I wonder if asking for an early review hurts your chances. I bet it does

@Wheretogoto which email did you originally send your request to?

@phillysteak I sent the original email to the general undergraduate admission email and the transfer admission email. I received a response from the general one.

@lexluther96 In what ways do you think it’d hurt our chances?

@wheretogoto do you mind sharing that email? I sent them one last weekend but still no response.

It hurts your chances cuase you seem impatient and condenceding in a sense. Like, for some reason you are better then everybody else so you should have your app reviewed first.

Now, of course if you have a good reason for early decision, that changes everything

@phillysteak

Good afternoon, I had applied as transfer student in December and had my alumni interview last month. Today I called the university to see when I should be expecting to hear back and I was told all transfer students will hear back on June 15th. This information did not seem accurate as the date on the website says June 1st, and doing a quick internet search showed transfer students typically start hearing back in late April and May. Other schools I’ve been accepted to want me to respond by May 1st, so I’m really hoping to hear back by the end of April if at all possible.

Thanks,
X X

I do not think that it will make you guys look selfish at all due to the fact that you need an early review from georgetown because it technically is a reach school for everyone and also because it is not a guaranteed attendance by everyone.

Discussed it with a high school guidance counselor. There’s no reason it should hurt our chances. It’s perfectly understandable.

Do you guys think I have a chance for transfer admission?
College GPA: 4.0
High School: 3.4 weighted GPA
SAT-1460/2400
I took 10 AP Classes All in total

I am a black male from the hood, who watched his cousin get shot by gang members, and has had to take care of a mom who had a stroke. But I have some very awesome extra curricular activities. I am president of my school’s debate team, and I’ve had to be the coach and president because our school couldn’t afford a coach. I am ranked as the best teenage orator in my city, and one of the top 80 orators in the nation. First black to win the California State championship in speech and debate. I started a tutoring program for black students at my school, because blacks were performing way lower than other ethnic groups. And because of that program, all of the failing black students who participated in the program ended up passing. I interned for a state senator, and when interning for him I hosted a debate tournament for inner-city youth. In addition, I wrote a bill called AB 672 which gives assistance to prisoners who are wrongfully convicted. The bill that I wrote was actually voted by the California State senate and signed by the state governor, and now the bill I wrote is now in effect. I also have won several awards for Mock Trial, Academic Decathlon, and I am a columnist for a local newspaper. I also have stopped a lot of peers in my neighborhood from joining gangs and getting addicted to drugs. My grades are low, but I’ve done amazing things. Do you think that they’ll look past my low high school gpa and test scores and give me a chance?

I think your chances of being admitted is similar to that of your peers if they weren’t stopped from getting addicted to drugs…high!

@amoore001

@amoore001 keep being a person of action rather then words and school club membership. It sounds like you are actively doing things rather then being a president of (fill in the blank). That I believe will set you aside from other people here who honestly are the average middle class rich kid who has no comparison of suffering or poverty. With poverty or race issues comes all the statistics and baggage that sets you up to fail.

@WhoTouchedMyTaco Get fucked guy.

Comprehension*

So, about that decision date…Well, glad that the spring semester is almost over.

The people I emailed about an early review haven’t gotten back to me and time is running out.

Did you request the extension from other schools? @Wheretogoto
