@transfer201831 I applied to Justice and Peace Studies!
I applied to MSB… rejected out of high school… second times a charm I suppose
I have been rejected twice, third time is the charm for me im hoping LOL.
@AnikaandAj Good luck! Keep me posted if you hear anything and I will do the same Fingers crossed for the both of us.
Sorry, I’m still confused on how the decision process works… So I applied as a GOV major and since some in GOV have already found out, does that mean I’m going to be waitlisted or denied? Is it done in order of school and major? Also, is it true that you never find out whether or not you’re rejected because that sounds a little ridiculous, ngl.
Here’s my stats.
Result: accepted
Class: Freshman in TOP 40 UC school
Major: Mathematics
College GPA: 3.76
High School GPA: 94/100
HS Rank: 10%
SAT I: 1490 (700 Reading+ English, 790 Math, 21 Writing)
SAT II: 800 Math 2, 750 Physics, 720 Chemistry
AP:
- Cal BC (4)
- Chinese Lang (5)
- Chemistry (4)
One recommendation from math professor, and another from a professor knows me very well and whose best friend studied in GU before.
I’m an international applicant from China. Applied to GU last year and got wait-listed. Visited GU a couple of times and talked to admission officers.
@scottzyh Wow! You seem very impressive and hardworking, congratulations, thank you for sharing!
@larbear From what I’ve read, GU is going to continue to accept people throughout May. Towards the end of May last year, they released all their decisions for rejections and waitlists. Essentially if you don’t hear anything and it’s getting closer to the end of May, it would be safe to assume you either got rejected or waitlisted. You can get a feel for it more if you read the 2017 thread from last year. It is definitely a very long process!
@collegeapp14 thank you! Jeez, it definitely is a long process. It’s interesting that they choose to do it this way, rather than telling everyone at once!
Are we thinking that they’ll release another wave of acceptances tomorrow?
@gtowngirl99 It is a strong possibility!
Has anyone asked for an early review?
And has anyone heard about spring?
@“buddy1!” GU isn’t exactly the most organized and punctual admissions office.
I submitted parts of my app late (it didn’t go through, so they emailed me to resubmit supplement). Do you think this means I will hear later?
@emilytennisgirl No they usually have a buffer period after the deadline to still allow materials in because they understand things may be sent via snail mail or after the deadline anyways. They don’t start looking into the applications until well after a deadline.
Thanks @dcstorm97! I’m just worried because I sent it April 24th. They said they understand, so I am not totally concerned about it hurting my admissions chances; mostly I am wondering if it means I will hear back later than other government applicants.
@brelove2 I think they’ll release decisions for nursing soon.
I’m forever grateful to Georgetown for accepting me, but they’re 10 years behind every other elite school in terms of admissions. The application itself looks straight out of the '90s. Not a great first impression for a school.
They sent me an email at 2:45 am asking for something on my application
