Georgetown Fall 2018 Transfer

@transfer33123 Yeah I’m still waiting. Government major.

It seems like a lot of people who used to post stopped posting. Idk if that because of acceptances/rejections they never posted about, or simply because they haven’t received it yet.

I’m still patiently waiting for MSB

@transfer33123 same here! Econ major

Still waiting for SFS and early reading!

I’ve posted in the past, and I am still waiting like everyone else! Biology of Global Health major in the College. Not going to ask for an early read but I was accepted to BC, is that something I should let georgetown know?

I just got accepted into Nursing School!

Dear Mr. ****:

  It gives me great pleasure to inform you that the Committee on Admissions has voted to accept your application for transfer admission to Georgetown University. I am happy to offer you a place in the class beginning in the fall of 2018.

  You are to be congratulated on your admission in a very competitive process. This year, Georgetown's Admissions Committees considered nearly 2,300 transfer candidates for approximately 125 spaces. Attached you will find further information explaining details of your admission and enrollment. Your Dean’s Office at Georgetown will send an evaluation of your transfer credits to you separately. When you have reached your decision to attend Georgetown, please return the Enrollment Agreement Form along with the required $900 deposit. This deposit must be received by June 15, 2018 to confirm your place in the class.

  I am pleased to speak for the entire Georgetown community in welcoming you to the University. I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,

Charles A. Deacon

Dean of Undergraduate Admissions

@collegeapp14

That wouldn’t constitute an early read unless a deadline looms. But I would go to BC in any case. So much fun and a world class undergraduate experience. My d has the same choices as you along with USC but for freshman 2022 class

Congratulations! Did you request a early read?

anyone think i have a chance at appealing gtown SFS’s denial? it’s not been official yet, so…

@Hanyan I did not request early read.

Yeah this is taking forever. I expected to hear by now…

@rdcall
Congradulations!! I’m still waiting for my decision for the nursing school… I’m starting to lose hope :-S
If you dont mind sharing, what are your stats??

@hkwonn My situation is different. I am in the NAVY, and I graduated high school in 2012. I immigrated to the US in 2010; I was a refugee before moving to the United States. I am fluent in 7 languages, and I have a unique background.
High school GPA: 4.3
College GPA: 3.871
I have had eight deployments around the world, and I am still in the NAVY. My essays were plausibly what helped me the most.

@rdcall
Wow! Thanks for sharing! And congratulations again on your acceptance!

Hi everyone, I just started reading this discussion yesterday. After seeing that a few people successfully received early decisions, I requested one yesterday evening and got a reply before noon today. I was accepted to University of Richmond and Boston College, with UR requiring an answer by May 15. It turns out that I was waitlisted for Georgetown. It was my top choice but it also had the lowest acceptance rate so I’m not too bummed.

If we still havnt received our decision does that mean it’s likely a rejection?

@hkwonn thank you!

@ADKUWBDud I was in the same boat, I had lost all hope, and I even deposited my dues at W&M, but I heard this morning, so it’s never too late.
