Waitlisted by mail today for the College
Nothing…still waiting…
@Gtown101…still waiting…I have 2 hooks… Can’t get specific on what they are because this is an open forum but maybe no news is good news?
2018 wasn’t the year for transfers, folks.
So far I’ve counted a total of 14 waitlists and 14 rejections (might be slightly off by 1 or 2)
Breaking it down:
MSB: 2 waitlist, 4 rejections
SFS: 1 waitlist
NHS: 1 waitlist, 1 rejection
College: 4 waitlist
Non-specified: 6 waitlist, 9 rejections
What about when you factor in the acceptances too
I’m still waiting too. I know it’s going to me a rejection or a waitlist at best because I called the office and that’s what they told me, but they refused to tell me what it actually was. This is frustrating.
Just called and asked specifically about SFS. They said that the remaining decisions should be sent out tomorrow, but if we dont receive a letter, we can call the office and ask to be read our letter over the phone. Not sure why some of us haven’t received our letters yet when it seems like the majority already have.
@bbfan1927 did you get your letter in today’s mail?
@BCkid2020 Who told you that? Was it an admissions counselor?
@gtown101… Got my letter today, opened it and got wait-listed. And let’s face it waitlisting today is a gentle denial.
I have one more school I’m waiting on which is Notre Dame.
So far I got accepted to UVA UNC and Boston College. Of the three acceptances, for me, it’s BC all the way. Had I got accepted to Georgetown I would have been in quite a pickle because both Georgetown and BC have complimenting pros and cons. I don’t know what my final choice would have been between Georgetown and BC but I would have liked to have been put to that test.
But all the while, the wild card that trumped all of my school’s is Notre Dame.
Anyway good luck to the remaining transferees. Things happen for a reason. In life we usually end up where we are supposed to be. The universe has a way of sorting this out for us.
Good luck to everyone best wishes and be well.
PS… To Future transfer students who come across these pages note these dates and the circumstances. The longer time goes on the lesser your chances of getting into Georgetown.
I got into GW today, so there’s some more good news. I already turned down UMD…so now I get to play the waiting game until the last possible minute with the Gtown wait-list. [-O< I’ve even seen some people get accepted off the wait-list after they paid a deposit already on another school.
@bbfan1927 You put it really well. Yes, this is new beginnings.
Hi there Georgetown College Wait-listed here. I am a freshman at Catholic University of America, which is located just 10 minutes from Georgetown. I am originally from Seattle.
How many people do you guys think are on the transfer wait list.?
To future years:
Acceptances started coming by email on April 25th. Throughout April and May, people from all schools got acceptances via email and snail mail. In the last week of May, rejects and waitlists started coming via snail mail only.

Waitlisted for MSB
So how many people are doing both spring and fall transfer that are wait-listed? how do you guys think the whole thing is gonna work/how many people will get off the wait list
@collegeapp14 To be honest? None. They’ve already made it clear the chances are extremely slim to none. I would make other plans and get a head start on housing and enrolling in other courses in your school to get good professors to be completely fair. I know it’s not the news anyone wants to hear but it’s the truth.
