So I’ve got a fun story for today. I live in California, and have been eagerly awaiting my letter all day. Yet, all through school, despite my repeatedly texting and calling, my mother reported that no mail had arrived. Upon getting home, it was now 4, I discovered that indeed, no mail had come. “How could this be,” I thought. My mom however had just returned from a trip abroad, so all of her mail had been held by the post office. We figured that perhaps they had held onto it for one extra day. My mother called the post office, and that turned out to be the case. So she drives down and comes back about 30 min later, I stayed home and sat anxiously the entire time. I hear the garage opening, and her walking up the stairs. Her and my brothers hand me a large envelope from Georgetown. Nervous as can be, I ask them for some privacy, close the door, and sit down. I stare at it for a moment or two, until I was able to gather the courage to rip it open. The envelope is torn in half, and several multi colored pages fall out. This must be good news!!! I begin scanning the letter itself, but see no words of congratulations or regret. I look closer, and discover that it is AN APPLICATION. They sent me an application, and strong urge me to consider the university, especially the early action program. Fail. Sigh…I can’t wait to check the mail tomorrow!

ACCEPTED YEAHHHH

my extracurriculars were my strongest aspect especially my internship in beijing and being manager of my business. my essays were okayy, the concepts were good i think. my recs were really good since my teacher really likes me. AHH! congrats to everyone who got in as well =). for those who didn’t, i can only say that college is one step in your life and you will get into a great college that will work out for in the end. undergrad is just one step! again, congrats to everyone else who got in! i hope my stats gives hope to lots of other students, you really never know!

I feel like my downfalls were that the Georgetown app doesn’t allow you to explain or fully divulge your EC’s, and I didn’t write an entire page because I was trying to keep them short. So for RD, I’ll send in my resume (which I forgot to do the first time) and then I’ll write another essay showing them why I really want to go there. Hopefully that’ll be enough. Congrats to everyone who got in.
