And about admissions, from what I have experienced in dealing with them a great deal last year, the procedures and directors are very, very traditional and old fashioned like you guys said. But, although I agree about the login, the admissions reps you speak with on the phone tend to be fairly kind.

I don't want to identify it I'll just say X and hopefully you'll figure it out haha

Okay, I believe I figured it out, I went to a school in the ISL. I'm from the Boston area.

haha, so other people get your stats up if you're able!

alrightttt i'll list stats..even though its admittedly kind of dumb (but not as bad as writing this paper I'm putting off)

Frosh at Cornell U.
3.95 GPA
680 math, 750 verbal, 750 writing
went to a blah public school in a cleveland, oh suburb...4.0 GPA UW, 4.9W w/ honors/AP, ranked 3rd out of like 320 or so
ECs are normal/fine...nothing stellar
never applied to gtown before...applied ED to cornell

haha so now probably no one else is going to list their stats and i'm going to feel like a giant tool...great

Haha to be totally honest I don't think your a tool, I do think Georgetown will be confused as they are writing your acceptance letter as to why exactly you applied, but I don't find it discouraging as, with those stats and Cornell, I would easily bet you are number 1 or 2 out of their entire applicant pool, not so much the mainstream applicant concerned about getting in. Congratulations, those stats are amazing!

Freshman at UCLA (but with Junior standing) - GPA: 3.8
SAT: 2300
SATII: 760, 730
ECs: various committees on student government, part of a political awareness group on campus, honors program, internship/docent at an art museum
attended a highly ranked private high school on the west coast - above average student, but not cum laude / top
never applied to GT
scheduled my interview for thursday... my interviewer works at UCLA, i think, so this will be interesting...

most repeat applicants will not get interviews. esp previous EA applicants, waitlisters, and ext-waitlisters. that said, it also depends on your area.

Applying for Soph status, current frosh at GWU (but w/ junior standing like isthisit)
Col GPA 3.94
SAT 1550
SAT II 760, 730, 720
ECs: school paper, internship on the hill, honors program, res hall govt, presidential campaign
Ext-Waitlist last year
Did not get an interview, but I'm not surprised, nor am I concerned, having been on the ext WL.

Wow, this is also impressive, my GPA looks meager by comparison...I'd rate your chances high given your extended wait listing status.

Also, someone please review my stats and let me know what you think, there is no need to be nice.

Freshman at JMU
College GPA: 4.0
HS GPA: almost 4.5 weighted
SAT's: 1220 (yeah, we don't talk about this...)
SAT II's: 670, 650 (these either...)
EC's: Community Service, Dance Team, Dance Competition, Dance Captain, NHS, Science Fair, etc.

Had an interview. I believe it went really well. Talked specifically about what I loved about Georgetown.

Oh! And I think my letter of recommendation from my professor is probably really good.

BUT my SAT's suck. So I'm pretty worried.

I've got my Georgetown Interview set up for Friday at 8PM. I'm excited, the guy sounded nice on the phone.

Good luck! Is that the same guy you'd been trying to reach for the past 2 weeks or so?

Yeah, he sounded like a really nice guy. I'm meeting with him on Friday Night...that should be interesting. He was like "is that too late for you?" I was like "no, I don't do anything on weekends anymore." OK, that's not totally true, but I've been waiting two to three weeks to get a hold of him. I'm glad I was coherent when he called. Now, I've got to get mentally prepared.

It's not a blind date. Calm down. Jesus.

Laugh a lot !! He may be gay and wanted a young date on Friday. You'd better get physically prepared :)

Freshman at Top 50 University
College GPA 3.9
High School GPA 3.55 UW
SAT 1390
SATII 700, 650, 620

Called about interview, they said if you havent gotten contact yet it prolly wont happen.

HA HA HA.

No I mean like I'm in stressed out, exams are next week, hearing back from colleges mode. I need to get into interview mode. That's all.

Crog, I'm an NYUer, too. What are you studying?

For everyone: why Georgetown?? Thought we might compare notes...

Hey I am in GSP planning to major in Political Science....I have wanted Georgetown since I was very young for a variety of reasons
