Georgetown University Transfer 2019

@ZZZXXXZZZ If, for some reason, you have trouble hearing back in time, I recommend checking out the thread from last year. I remember someone mentioning something about being told to contact the dean of admissions or something like that

Any chance decisions are released this week?

@Ashtash Noted with thanks!

@whereto2022 thereā€™s a pretty big chance that the first wave will be released this week

Will the first wave be mostly acceptance?

@kcasssuu From what Iā€™ve seen, I think so. It seems that with GU, which certainly isnā€™t the norm, the longer you wait, the less likely acceptance is. However, there are definitely acceptances in later waves. In fact, it seems like the first wave is actually pretty small based off previous CC threads. We donā€™t actually know how many decisions are sent out in each wave though. If you donā€™t get a decision in the first wave, donā€™t worry. Plenty of acceptances will come later too

When is the first wave of decisions expected to be released?

@chicagocubs I really hope it will be this weekā€¦ As mentioned in the comment aboveā€¦ā€œpretty big chanceā€

My guess is Wednesday, but who knows

Does Georgetown still deliver via snail mail only? Because I signed up for USPS informed delivery (basically it allows you to see what mail is coming your way; past forums have used this to check whether they were getting a decision letter) but if decisions are supposed to come out this week shouldnā€™t we have seen a message in our USPS inbox? Or are they doing decisions through the portal?

@summit3 The early waves, which have more acceptances, received decisions by email.
Idk if only accepted applicants get the email, but if you look at past threads the people accepted in the early waves received acceptance emails.

It didnā€™t seem like a lot of rejections/waitlists were sent out early.

The emails come in the afternoon around 5-6, I think

I hate to put a damper on us hearing from Georgetown this week but, as a Catholic school, Georgetown totally shuts down for 5 days at Easter, including today. Usually Easter isnā€™t this late in the month, so they may not be prepared to release decisions as soon as they get back.

@etransfer2019 I agree with you on this

@etransfer2019 Iā€™m neutral to that. That definitely makes sense, but classes resume tomorrow. I think thereā€™s certainly a chance that some could be released this week. At the same time, I wouldnā€™t be surprised if we did have to wait until May. I guess weā€™ll just have to wait and see.

Did anyone get a Fin Aid portal yet?

@Ashtash Yeah, Iā€™m kinda over it. Just going to play the waiting game, and wait.

@Needmoreec did you??? I just checked and I havenā€™t gotten it.

@polyscidreamer Oh no haha I was just wondering if anyone did

Hi everyone! My boyfriend and I both applied for GU as transfers. He applied for NHS and I applied for GC. Weā€™re so nervous to hear the verdict! Thanks for having this forum for everyone.

@Mackaylinmarie Welcome to the club
