I got into Cornell’s business school but still waiting for Georgetown. Which school would you guys choose?
@CakeQueen0801 I am into Cornell. Is there any news from your schools?
if you transfer to Georgetown does your GPA get reset
@mnx9xx yes it does
It means we are gonna lose our 4.0 Time to rebuild another 4.0
Can someone please explain what do you mean by GPA being reset?
@ZZZXXXZZZ Your credits may transfer, but your GPA does not.
@portaltroll I see. Thank you
yayy12 between McDonough and Dyson, I would lean towards McDonough. McDonough has been around forever, while a lot of people don’t even know that Cornell has an undergraduate business school. I think the recruiting will be better at McDonough due to its longevity and the ease of recruiters getting to Washington versus Ithaca. Also, Washington has lots of opportunities for internships in business while Ithaca has very few.
Does anyone have any ideas of when we should be hearing back? I know from previous threads people usually would have heard back by now, but from my understanding there haven’t been any decisions released.
@whereto2022 the easter was particularly late this year so the release of decisions has thus been presumably delayed. But we can safely assume that the majority of acceptances will come out around May 1.
@etransfer2019 thank you very much. If you look at the business school ranking of Dyson and McDonough, Dyson is better and if you rank the schools in general, Cornell is an Ivy and better ranked. The only points that makes me choose McDonough is that I live in DC area and the weather of Ithaca is harsh. Let’s see what happens. Again thanks for the helpful recruiters info…
You’re absolutely wrong
“A lot of people don’t know.” What kind of no evidence biased statement is that? Recruiters absolutely do know.
Your entire paragraph is full of false conjectures. Cornell absolutely did send a lot more students to good parts of the industry over McDonough.
Do your research next time
Honestly, I would go to Dyson if I get into both schools
Both schools are great schools. My only experience is from asking a lot of family and friends who have been in the finance industry anywhere from a couple years to 40 years in all the major cities. If you look on linkedin, for the size of McDonough, they have a huge number of alums at every major investment bank. There alumni network is intense and the recruitment process looks to be pretty amazing. Not everyone wants investment banking, but since it is one of the most competitive jobs to get, I would think they have a good network in other areas of business too. I think if you excel academically and engage in the clubs, you can go and do anything from McDonough. I am sure that Dyson is great too, I personally just like being in Washington and at a smaller school. Since Georgetown hasn’t released decisions yet, nobody has to make that call right now.
Do we expect our first decisions to be out tonight? Super nervous…
Truly I have given up on trying to guess when decisions will come out— I may have a stroke if I keep stressing myself out like this!! On another note— Penn decisions won’t be out until May 15-20th so rip to any of us here who also applied to penn?
Guys the only thing we know for sure is that decisioms come out on or before June 1. Anything other than that is just guessing. Relax and enjoy your last week or weeks of this semester!
I spoke to an admissions rep on campus who said that they are aiming to be done evaluating transfers by the end of this week! She said they should be able to have decisions updated on the portal soon regardless of admission status.
@fruffypanda420 do you mean for all applicants? that would be quite a (welcome) departure from past years
