@truffypanda420 Are decisions posted on portal? Because I thought decisions are sent through email and mail…
Oh @fruffypanda420 my bad tagged wrong person
@transferstdnt99 she didn’t refer to any waves but what I meant was that regardless of if you get rejected or accepted the decision should be on the portal.
@wantstogotoharvd yea freshman decisions were posted on a portal this year and she said they’d be able to do the same for transfers.
Another thing to add, if I remember correctly, she said they would start putting out decisions by May 15th. I don’t remember if she said it was all decisions or just some of them
@fruffypanda420 Thank you for your response. It’s really nice to hear that

I just got my finals grades. Anyone know how I can update Georgetown? I know they have that update form, but I don’t think I can include a screenshot
Since your transcript likely isn’t available yet I would take a screenshot and attach it with your application reference # and a note of explanation to transferadmissions@georgetown.edu
@skyblueforever I just discovered we can in fact attach documents to our updates. Thank you for the recommendation though(:
@fluffypanda420 @wantstogotoharvrd If you go on your portal, you’ll see a note to first years saying that admission decisions would be up on the portal by 3/30. I was shocked that they were finally updating their system. I wasn’t sure if that meant for transfers too, but thank you, @fluffypanda420, for confirming it. It’s nice to know that there’s a more efficient process now
Edit: I can see the note to first years because I applied last year, and there’s a drop down that says “Transfer 2019” and “Early Action 2018,” so I guess that’s why I can see it
I see nothing on my portal noting first year admission decisions will be on the portal by 3/27.
@taylor99 Note my edit
This might be a repetitive question, but do people think (some) decisions are coming out today or a later date?
What time are usually decisions out for Georgetown?
I just called the admissions office and they said that transfer decisions come out on June 1 not before June 1. Anyone heard anything different from Gtown admissions?
5-5:30pm @whereto2022
@dchopeful99 they say that every year, and every year people start getting acceptances in the last week of April/early May
I just called Georgetown’s admissions and they told me the same; that decisions will be out on June 1st and not before. I’m kind’ve worried
We have been over this numerous times. Admissions always gives the standard date (june). Not everyone will hear at the end of April, but the first waves have, historically, been at this time (end of april).
Georgetown always seems to be somewhat disorganized and non-responsive, so while I think the first round will be sometime this week, its hard to know. For those who have to respond to other schools, if at all possible, I suggest you put down a deposit knowing you may have (or be lucky enough) to walk away from it. The deposits are usually in the $500ish range and while that is painful, if you can come up with the money, it is worth it to keep your options open and relieve some stress. This decision is important and making a decision in as orderly a process as possible seems worth it. If putting down two deposits is impossible, then call the school that wants a deposit and plead for more time to get the deposit together. Typically Georgetown waitlists a fair number of people and they do draw from the waitlist in June, July and even August, so even after decisions come out, we could be in a holding pattern, facing the same issues. I’ve known students to change transfer schools as late as August.
@etransfer2019 Yeah I need to put down deposit by may 1st for my match school. I will give it one more day, and probably have to put down the deposit.
