Well GT is the only school that hasnt sent me a letter about if i got accepted or not.
Every college that i have applied to has accepted me

Virginia Tech
Clemson
The Citadel
UGA

Im so nervous! I dont know if ill get in :( my math SAT is LOW (490)
But then again, i didnt think i was gonna get in clemson or vt.
Isnt the acceptence rate at Gt around 60%?
AHHH, the suspense is killing me....

Same… Except my SAT Math was 590 and I’m applying to Engineering. :(

I applied to engineering too.
If i dont get accepted im going to be a little ****ed, because a guy at my school got a football scholarship to play at Gt, and he told me he made a 740 on the whole SAT! Nothing against the guy, he’s a cool dude, but thats like almost not even 200 points on each section. I dont even think thats possible!

you have to make at least a 900 to be eligible for college.

umm, how did u get accepted to UGA with a 490 on math, unless you have a perfect score on the rest of the SAT or have a 4+ UW GPA in all honors and AP classes, that is not very likely.

Georgia Tech has the one of the most stringent requirements for athletes, so I think this is highly questionable (as in not real).

UGA is definitely not a rigorous as Gt, Vt, Clemson, etc. No offense, but I dont think you have to be that smart to get in UGA. They were actually my last choice and i only applied as a backup plan.
And you guys make a valid point about the football player with the 790 SAT score. lol
I checked Buzzport and they converted my ACT math to SAT and it was a 520. I know thats not much of a difference, but ehhh… it gave me a little hope.

Dude…490? You have no chance, no matter what your GPA is.

520 actually
and thanks for the encouragement dude
we’ll see what happens

520 is still 120 points below the 25% percentile of people who get admitted to Tech.

you still wouldnt get in (especially early) with those scores.

MistaF1 how did you learn that you got accepted at Virginia Tech? Did they send you an e-mail or something?

I got an email first and then i checked the My Virginia Tech Admission Status on the website, and it said accepted. Then it had a choice to pay the 400 bucks. I still havent gotten the letter in the mail yet tho…

whoa, 520 math?! i really want to know if you make it or not
my reading was 580 (super low) so idk if i’ll make it…

If you are so worried about the female ratio at ERAU, you should rethink Tech as being your #1 choice. The ratio is the same. Atlanta is a great town to socialize as opposed to Daytona. Most engineering students I know dont let those factors make their college choice though.

The female ratio isnt a deciding factor, I just wanted to know. I dont have good luck with women anyway. Georgia Tech would be my first choice even if it was an all guy school. I just want to go to a good school where i know i will be able to be challenged, and be able to learn what i need to become a highly successful engineer. I know Tech is extremely hard, but i want the challenge. Even though my SAT scores dont show it, I know i can make it if i really apply myself. If i get into tech I will do my best, and ill graduate no matter what they put in front of me. If i dont get into tech, oh well, maybe next year. Ill just go to Virginia Tech instead and apply myself the same.

have u take any calculus?

Ive been taking honors analysis since august, and ive been able to consistently keep at least a B average in there.

honestly, if u expect to survive calculus at Tech you should probably be making As in your pre calculus courses, which are significantly easier then calculus classes.

You know what the girls say at schools like Georgia Tech?
“The odds are good, but the goods are odd.”
