@vtanboy29 thanks. we were a bit surprised too but then we knew that it’s not all about scores and grades. we are hoping he will get accepted correction too, my son did have some leaderships but nothing of the major kinds. in addition,
SAT subject test: Math II 800 and Physics 710
Top 1% of his class too out 300+
@gmc0508 My son has almost an identical SAT I score as yours, his several subject SATs are above 750, with an 800 on SAT Math II. His GPA is lower than yours at 3.80 unweighted. He was fortunately enough to be accepted for C.S. His 9th through 11th grades were spent in a reputable high school Georgia, which might have helped. There is a good chance your son will be accepted during RD. The admit rate for deferred students is anywhere between 15 and 25%. Let Tech know your son will enroll if accepted - the yield rate has become increasingly important to every college.
@1353116461 when my kiddo filled it out it said something about how ticket numbers for housing preferences are issued based on when you register, but I don’t think it said when.
Hey do you guys know if Georgia Tech averages the classes in your mid year report? or do they look at each quarter individually and find the gpa that way?
@yy05z12 I’m not international, but I think that if your kid was deferred, he should stay hopeful. I believe Tech tries only to defer students they really are considering.
