Georgia Tech Class of 2025 -- Regular Decision

I would think the huge number of TO at USC may really just correlate to the high number of California applicants that had no chance at taking the SAT as those were cancelled pretty much everywhere and the only way you could get one is by driving out of state. Obviously not everyone applying is from in state and it is private but that would make a lot of sense there.

Luckily s21 did act in 2019 and submitted scores everywhere. He still has to hear from other schools but getting in gtech reduces the stress

I am sure there is a possibility. I was offered Provost and SPS/Gold and am OOS, so I would think they would redistribute the Provost. I am not committed yet but am 95% sure that I will! Hopefully that will help someone out!

Waitlist kids. Did any of u submit ur waitlist form yet? I did, and when I submitted my waitlist form today and I clicked on the waitlist offer reply form on the application checklist, my statement of continued interest did not show up. Did this happen to u guys? Only my responses to the graduate date showed up.

my statement shows up

Interesting. When did you submit the waitlist form?

two days after.

Thanks. I’ll check tomorrow to see if its up, otherwise I’ll call the admissions office. Good luck with the waitlist btw

Are there any students who have been accepted to either Georgia Tech or UT Austin, but not accepted to UIUC or Purdue or UW or PSU et al?

I was accepted to GT, Cornell, and Northeastern but not UW.

Their loss! Congrats on all the other success!!!

Does anyone know when the results for the alumni association scholarships will be announced or do those just roll out and we find out in the portal? Also, when do we find out about acceptance to the Honors Program? Thanks!

Honors program is not like other schools. It is just like another LLC - not an elite group of students. I don’t think there’s much to it except you can live in honors dorm. It is a space available thing and as long as space is available you are in. I will say that most students that start as Honors don’t graduate as a member of the Honors College as it is too hard to get the required classes that fit in your schedule.

It is totally different than graduating with honors or high honors academically. That is something employers care about. The honors college is not at Tech.

Thanks for the info! Yep, I knew that “Honors Program” wasn’t the same thing as graduating with “honors,” since that will be contingent on your final undergraduate gpa-in this particular case.

I’m now wondering though, why were admitted applicants being asked to write two lengthy essays -in a very short time span- in order to be able to move into what seems to just be a dorm? Is there a housing shortage on campus?

No housing shortage. There are dorms designated for Honors, just like there are dorms for other LLCs like Grand Challenges. Honors dorms are on West campus which is a negative to some, positive to others. Honors is not perceived to be any more prestigious than the other LLCs, just has a different group of like minded people. There is also an extra fee for Honors LLC like other LLCs which goes to additional programming, speakers, activities, etc. Tech does not have a separate Honors College like other schools.

Being in an LLC is a good way to meet people but so is joining clubs, participating in rush, playing intramurals, etc. It is just another way to find your community at Tech.
